This place has solid, huge portions of fish and chips, but if you go even 30 minutes before their closing time, they will offer you only«what they have left.» Meaning you could be stuck with mushy fries and a pie that has been sitting under the heat lamp for hours. Not sure why they can’t keep the fryer on until the stated closing time, but that’s the way. This is definitely not a late night establishment.

Loved this place. Bangers and mash great, service quick and efficient. Great lunchtime atmosphere and the price wasn’t too bad either. Had the standard fish and chips and it was a delight. If you’re not in the mood to stand in the kebab queues on Whitecross market this is a wonderful alternative.

It is a fish and chip shop that do other things like pies, steak and roast chicken. If you order some chips(aka fries to us North Americans) you will get a lot of chips. Once I asked for just half the amount and they said that couldn’t be done, «hey I tried» *shrug*(happy dance, more chips for me). I must say the chips are good with salt and vinegar but since they are not the crispy kind, they tend to get soggy quickly. They always have some good deal of wine or beer with a meal for 6 – 7 quid. Lots of cabbies stop here to get a meal at the one on Goswell road. You can’t go wrong on price and you will be full eating here.
