Nice little bar in Angel, came for a 30th birthday party, we were given a space at the back. Shame they didnt have the nicer cocktails on offer. Lemon popsicle is nice if you like bitter concoctions, however, the diaquiris are awful! Tiny place, good music, the dj was really good. Had a good time. Don’t know why they charge after 11pm to get in, its a tiny place, so you’d think they would prevent overcrowding. However, not a place I’d come back to! Plenty of better bars around the Angel area.

Ok this bar can change from day to day and hour to hour and depends on who is working behind the bar But in my opinion is great little bar where all sort of people come in. You can come in and empty and 20 mins later crowded and then 20 min later empty again Give it try and see what happens

Awful place. My friend booked an area well in advance for her birthday. When she arrived they gave her a smaller area than the one she had booked and other people were sitting in her area. I arrived a bit later and asked to speak to a manager. No explanation or effort to sort it out… very annoying. Bad music as well. Won’t be going back

The Ladybird is a really nice bar in Angel. I would recommend good nah with a small group of people as the venue itself is quite small. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. Downstairs they have a dance floor with a small bar but it does not fit too many people so I ended up needing to go out for air a lot. The cocktail menu is designed as a storybook with all the cocktails named after fairytale characters. I had the Mulan which is basically gin and pineapple and I really liked it. The prices are around 8.50 per cocktail though so it may turn out to be an expensive night out. If you go very early on a weekday they do have a happy hour so I’d recommend doing that instead and you will also get to avoid the crowds. I would definitely like to go back and try more of their cocktails on a quiet night.

After a late night out with the band we ventured here for a late night drink-were stung for 4 quid each entry and then faced with a poorr selection of beers. Ok I admit we were probably the oldest swingers inn town on that night and a little worse for wear but after a few sips of my JD and coke I was glad to get out. I felt like i was at a school disco!

I think it’s absolutely hilarious that I am the Duchess of the Ladybird right now, but let’s go with it okay? I’ve been to the Ladybird twice, both late in the night. The first time, I was dissuaded from ordering a drink by the minimal selection of on draught drinks. I can understand the Ladybird kind of dissolves into a dance place as the night wears on(I learned this on my second visit), but when you come to have a drink and relax and chat, it’s a bit disappointing to be faced with only bottles. On my second visit, I was much more pleased, and found that the DJ was quite good. I again didn’t order a drink, though tried plenty of others during my time. It’s certainly a good place in Islington to go in the night if you want to have a drink and a dance, and don’t want it to be too crazy. Ladybird can get crazy, but not that crazy, and that’s what I like about it.

Cool little bar in Angel. It’s small but has a cool atmosphere. They serve these giant cocktails which are a lot of fun and pretty tasty. You can get a couple for the table, chill and share.

This is a cool cool bar but it really doesn’t have the wild pack-out vibe that other places do on Upper Street, Slim Jims etc. But for a good hip lounge area — it’s a great place for your extracurricular activities. It does have real cool décor — reminds me of places I’ve been on Miami’s South Beach — yet nowhere near as wild. We walked in with a group of about 15 and they immediately turned the music on & loud. We got the real big square white leather table in the back left corner and it was like a little VIP room — which was cool because our group was getting pretty rowdy. Finally — I like any place that has Asahi on draft — its a great beer and I do not mind paying £4 for a pint of Japan’s finest.

Popped in here on a Saturday ngiht for a quick beverage. Not too bad — I liked the music from the tiny girl DJ! The place is split in half, as you enter you go upstairs to the main bar and lounge. There are quite a few sofas and seating areas and a larger few booths at the back which can be reserved for a group. House wine was £4.50 a glass, not super-cheap. Cocktails were around the £7.00 mark. Nice crowd mostly, but It felt very cramped as the ceiling is low and if you don’t nab a seat then there’s very little space to stand that isn’t in the way of the bar or people shuffling past. We decided to check what was downatairs — basically a small dancefloor and different DJ, but at 11pm there We thought it was ‘eccentric’ and theorised that it must be back in vogue until we realised that is was to mask the pungent stench or urine coming from the poorly ventilated toilets by the lower ground stairs. YUK!!! Sort it out people.

This bar is great, ended up here on a Friday night, it is pretty small so if you are going with a few people make sure you reserve yourself a table. The music was fantastic, this is the only bar that I have found that plays non mainstream hip hop and mixes it up. Great if you don’t want a heavy night but still want to have fun. The décor is trendy and it can get packed, so get there early :)

i love this bar. It definitley doesnt have a buzzing atmosphere though. It is small, dark, and moody, and chic. I normally come here for the not-very-cheap but very strong cocktails. Its impossible to have 2 and not feel tipsy. Its also open til about 2am on weeknights. Pretty late for upper street. The doormen are normally friendly, the bar staff average.

When we arrived to Lady Bird it was Friday evening around 7pm and we were the only customers. My friend is really into drinks(those really sweet sugary ones) so this was her favorite option. Cool. I have to agree that the drink list was impressive and the staff knew what they were doing. It took a while to get the drinks but it was only because the bartender really saw some effort with million different ingredients. Prices were all right and there were lots of seats available. The place is quite push and polished, with black leather couches and the dj was playing some cheesy house music with a club vibe. The venue is really small but started to get busy closer to the midnight, and eventually was completely packed. But still I felt something was missing? Maybe it is because you can’t really say there was nothing unique, new or exceptional. The place was too polished and lacked an atmosphere.
