Cute little place. I came across it when I was out doing the ‘lunchtime scour’ dance to find something decent to eat. It’s a little café place with downstairs seating. They had a few salads on the bar, with protein chicken or salmon to add. You can get small, medium or large. I went for the large and it cost £6.95. Ouch! Mainly it was caesar kale, another kale salad with some cubed butternut squash and a chickpea salad. It was pretty good overall, quite tasty but didn’t blow me away. I also think that the pricing is just way too much for what equates to about £1.50 worth of food. They didn’t seem to have a lot of options left when I went in at 12.30 but maybe it was just a bad time. They asked if I wanted to add chicken or salmon but I think that is an extra £4 and I’d rather keep some of my paycheque, thanks.

As I’m trying to stick to a healthy(–er) lifestyle lately, I popped in recently opened Maple & Fitz to grab juice as a mid-afternoon snack. The place itself is lovely(it’s actually bigger than it looks, thanks to a basement small dining room). There’s a small selection of food(simple, cooked on the day salads, as well as a choice of protein and guilt-free treats). The selection of juice is good too(about 8 on offer the day I went), but maybe a bit expensive(£4 for 250 mL). And the names are hilarious! I had the«After the disco» juice, which was as refreshing as advertised. And a slice of gluten-free brownies(which was delish!). But shhhh! Don’t tell anyone about it!
