Don’t know how they managed to put so many tables in one tiny room. It’s a bit loud and crowded. Def a place for family not romance.

FantAstic Greek food with a modern twist. Had the Greek salad which was a very generous portion, black eye pea salad with squid tempura, shiitake mushroom mousaka and grilled squid with potatoes. Great presentation, flavour, cooking and even the service was top notch. Been all over Greece and this is authentic but not some grandmother old school style. It’s funky and up beat. 82£ for 2 ppl including drinks and desert

Delicious food. Promptly arrived on table, friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere. I recommend the amazing loukoums, SOYUM! I was just a bit disappointed that we have had to eat fast: when you book a table, it’s only for 2 hours(it was a Saturday night, I understand they want to make money, but I’m use to spend 4 hours chatting with friends around a nice meal in France… Hate being in a rush, particularly when is not a cheap meal). But beside this tiny cultural choc(I’m new in London), I loved it.

Without a plan for a place to eat, my friend and I were traversing through Kensington. We were both hungry and didn’t know where to go. I didn’t even check with Unilocal first, I just followed my gut instinct upon street observation. We initially spotted another Greek restaurant just down the street from Mazi, but it looked old-school and dark inside. However, Mazi looked very inviting from the street, so we took a look at the menu and got a table. We had a few servers but they were all very polite and helpful explaining the items on the menu. Upon arrival we were given a complimentary shot glass of this refreshing Greek drink — a concoction with mild citrus and very little alcohol. I didn’t quite know what to expect with the«Jars», but they turned out to be these exquisite appetizers just bursting with flavor. The calamari«riceless» risotto was just pure awesomeness. Not only did it taste amazing, but the presentation was delightful. I’m an adventurous foodie from NYC and have a special place in my heart for Greek cuisine. I especially enjoy traditional ethnic foods with a contemporary twist… Mazi delivered just that.

I went with a bunch of friends and ordered loads from the menu such as meatballs, tzatziki, hummus, grilled aubergines, french fries, smoked mackerel calamari, lamb chops. I liked everything I tried! This plave does traditional Greek cuisine with a modern twist which I really enjoyed. The ambience is really nice. The décor reminds you of what you would see in a nice upscaled restaurant on a Greek island. The staff was really polite and most of them are Greek which makes it even more authentic experience. I definitely recommend this place!

Went to Mazi for a friend’s birthday. We all tried a variety of dishes including: Fish Roe Mousse Tarama, Grandmama’s Meatballs from Smyrna, handmade crisps(really good), Grilled Aubergine with soy and thyme honey(AMAZING!!), Tzatziki with only a pinch of garlic, Oak Smoked mackerel, quinoa and rocket, citrus juice, Shredded Rabbit Stifado, pearl onion cream(VERY yummy!), Black Truffle chicken Hunkar Begendi(DELICIOUS!), Lamb Cutlets seared in smoked garlic butter and Fresh Calamari in rocket pesto riceless risotto. I cannot fault any of the dishes. The service was quite attentive as well. Delightfully surprised to find a good Greek restaurant outside Greece!

Mazi did a superb job organizing a festive lunch for 24 people to celebrate a big birthday. The back garden was set up with a U-shaped table, and the white walls and grapevines overhead transported us to the Mediterranean for the afternoon. The food was exquisite — everything from the Greek salad to the chicken was delicious and light. Even the finickiest eaters loved the grilled octopus! The Mazi team was a pleasure to work with. What a great experience!

Superlative. The owners are a French-Greek couple and the cuisine combines Greek flavors with French subtlety. Menu tilts toward the vegetarian. That’s not us but no matter. Meal for five began with«jars», ie spreadable dips of yoghurt, feta, eggplant, and the like, delivered in jars to the table. The tiropeta(a cheese concoction with crispy filo-like crackers) is the clear standout. Then to tapas sized things(try the courgette keftedes and the pesto calamari, the last finely chopped calamari in pesto sauce accented by a gob of squid ink). The only meat course was truffled chicken: Breast chunks, not over cooked, with a very subtle mushroom side. Wine: thalassitis santorini, dry and minerally, no retsina. Unhappily this unpretentious neighborhood spot is getting popular, and noise levels were high. A bit pricey, but not really given the quality of both food and service. 5 persons: £228 including service and two bottles of wine.

Despite the big-plate-little-food nature of the place the food is actually quite nice. Tasty, well presented, good service all nice. I don’t know Greek food but it was all wonderful

Great Greek restaurant! Not for everyone. Attentive, smart food, looks great tastes great, great concept and interior is amazing and homely. 6pm onwards is when things really get started… it get’s busy so book. I didn’t know what to make of this place until i finished. At first, the staff seemed a bit robotic, it’s not until you have a joke and a laugh with them that they relax, perhaps the pompous area who knows? Menu is short, simple and tasty; and for two people 2x jars and 2 hot plates is great to start. The waiters can recommend, however trust me until you order you wont know. So be open minded and be prepared to taste finicky social food– none of this my plate my plate… YOU F*CKINGSHAREKIDS! Great location, not much else to say, oh 9 quid for a watermelon cosmo… but who cares right when you have food this affordable and different. Oh and one more thing…4 or more? don’t even try it. See pics :)

Delicious! Fresh and yummy. We had the greek salad which is a must have, the aubergine jar which I found to be a bit salty, the spinach and zucchini entrée(winner).

Mazi is a charming Greek tapas restaurant in Notting Hill, probably the best modern Greek food I’ve had in London. The menu is all sharable small plates. To start, Mazi offers a selection of «jars» which are freshly made spreads such as fish roe mousse and pureed grilled aubergine. The later was fantastic, I almost ordered a second one! Accompanied with homemade breads, ordering a few jars is the a perfect way to get your evening going — we were even provided with a small apéritif. For the main event, we shared a few dishes, the standouts being the Cool Souvlaki with crispy pork strips — which essentially is like a fresh Greek spring roll(Asian Greek fusion perhaps!), and the braised lamb with slow cooked shoulder baklava. The lamb was so tender it fell apart on my fork. I never had a savory baklava before, it’s definitely going on my short-list going forward! Prices are high but not outlandish, most of the sharable plates are in the £8−15 range. Mazi is definitely worth adding to your short-list of Greek restaurants!
