Great drinks. Friday night live guitar playing Oasis and other indie tunes. Soho is always a good night out! Would visit again now it’s getting warmer and there’s an outside area:)

Stopped here to grab some drinks with my friends. There was a girl behind the bar who I am sure is very sweet but had a lot of trouble getting out drink order down. When it was all worked out we enjoyed our cocktails and beers.

Bennigan’s dressed up as an Irish pub. The food in clearly made elsewhere & reheated. The menu reminded me of the U.S. Chain restaurants. My gammon ham was way too salty & was paired with bland fries, eggs & peas. Who ever prepares the food clearly does not taste it. Given the location, loads of tourists, British & American. The location is why this please does well. Come for the atmosphere, location & service(good). Not the food.

My friend insisted on coming here for her birthday lunch yesterday. Yeah. I know. But I figured, it’s just a pub and we can sit outside, it can’t be that bad, right? Wrong. Yes, we got a space to sit outside in the kinda sunshine so that was nice. The menu looks full of lovely sounding things so that seemed promising, if a bit on the pricey side. I went in to order at the bar and waited. They had some seriously irritating bar staff(Irish, from Cork I think.) who just looked at me standing there and bantered to themselves without serving me. I waited for ages and finally managed to order. They didn’t have the beer my friend wanted that was on the menu so I ordered something else. Jeez, it was pricey. Two beers, 1 appetiser and a side of onion rings for £17. We waited outside for 40 minutes for the food. Meanwhile, they had a server come out with a tray of samplers and stand outside the bar trying to encourage people to come in. She didn’t bother offering any to the people sitting outside. Just to people walking by. We kept waiting for the food. Should you really be encouraging people to come in when you can’t even serve the people already there? The food came. Worse onion rings than you’d get in Burger King. And burnt shrivelled potato skins with some bacon cut up on top. Literally just awful. And apparently they are advertising a new menu. Maybe don’t.

This place is garbage. Complete rubbish. Microwaved food takes 45 mins to arrive. Staff is mostly rude — though our waitress is fine. Cold and drafty inside kinda like the waitstaffs attitude. If you want better burgers and pub food go to mcdonalds. Or anywhere else. I can’t think of a place that uses cheaper ingredients and takes such a long time to push buttons on a microwave. Blah.

Ugh. What did I just eat? Microwaved junk seasoned with non-microwaved junk and it took 45 minutes to arrive. Everything looks bland and uninspired, including the wait staff(exception was one waitress).

Okay food and service. Nothing really special here. Rather standard pub food. They seem a bit understaffed upstairs, but that may have just been the time we were there. Food is a bit bland, but with a bit of salt it’s pretty doable. Definitely don’t go there in a hurry.

The art of a simple cup of tea seemed to be too difficult to manage when we stopped by today. Staff seemed surprised when I asked for milk which they gave me in a mug. Apparently this pub doesn’t have white sugar nor spoons but you stir with forks the staff provide. The smell of the urinals permeates the air while your feet stick to the floor and hands on the table. Not so much of a pleasure to enjoy a drink.

We came here by chance after the first place we wanted to have lunch at was full. Well, it was a delicious surprise! The ultimate burgers(two beef patties, bacon, cheddar, onion rings) were perfect! The seasoning of the beef patties made these burgers probably the best we ever had — and trust me, we had quite a few. It’s only too bad that we weren’t hungry enough to have dessert, as they sounded quite tasty. It also seems to be a perfect place to watch football!

Iss hier bloss kein Steak. Sogar rare ist noch Schuhsole pur. Das Personal ist aber sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Alles andere schmeckt prima. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die chickenburger. Frisch und lecker.

We stumbled upon O’Neill’s looking for a bite to eat on a Sunday night. We saw a lot of people sitting outside on their patio and thought it would be a good place to stop. It was confusing about where you could sit and who you order from. First we sat at an open table at the bar and realized you go up to the counter to order. They charged us £1 to start a tab and took our drink orders. We ended up getting a seat further back in the restaurant and asked to close or move the tab. Then a waitress came by to get our order and the rest of the meal went off without a hitch. The steak & Guiness pie was pretty tasty. The crust was delicious and the meat was cooked very well. The seafood linguini I ordered was very underwhelming… but that’s what I get for ordering seafood pasta at a pub. They have TVs all over but wouldn’t change the channels. Seems like a good place to grab a beer but that’s about it.

When in London this is a great place to grab a pint. Right in the middle of China Town with great restaurants all close by make sure you come here for one, or two, or even more! Although Friday and Saturday are typically the busy nights, consider coming on a Thursday night. Always a good crowd and best of all the prices for drinks are not super high compared to other pubs locally.

O’Neill’s, at least this location, is no more. Stopped by last night after seeing the reviews and the buidling is a construction site. Not sure if they’ll be back, but for now, this is a no go.

In our last attempt to find my sis’s favorite beer, Caffrey’s Irish Ale… we came in here looking for some good olé food to eat and beers to celebrate our last night in London. We lucked out! My sis ordered two pints of Caffrey’s for me to try… and oh boy… I love it as well! I have never been able to drink Guinness b/c it was too dark for me… let’s just say that Caffrey’s is creamy like a Guinness but it’s an ale so I was able to drink it w/o making a beer face. The bartenders /folks behind the bar were friendly… sis and I had their pork belly dinner plate for two… and I pretty much ate half of it… I was starved from our recent trip from Paris. The pork belly was cooked just right… tender… juicy and the gravy that accompanied it was just right. I was in la la land! Overall… definitely a hang out place for tourist as well as locals… I was buzzing after one pint of Caffrey’s… damn that beer was strong. Definitely looking forward to the next visit to drink this beer and have some of those pork belly!!!

Walking around Carnaby Street and I spied an Irish Pub, so I stopped in for a Guinness and a look around. Great location, good business that night — I enjoyed it.

Walking around town and was craving a tasty pint and saw this place. We have a place in Boulder, CO that is called Conor O’Neill’s that looks very similar from the outside so this chain here in London is probably where the one in Boulder got it’s name from. Decent beers. Great place to hang with a group of friends and gets pretty loud. Good start out place for the night!

Carnaby Street is great for shopping and wandering around. Full and live with people shopping and strolling about. On the corner of Carnaby under one of the arched entrances is god olé Irish Pub Called O’Neil’s. It is a chain; however this particular site is brilliant! The music the food and the mixture of clientele! I have spent a couple of St Patrick day celebrations here and they were just great! Filled with Irish people either on pub crawls or settled to see the night through! The banter and conversation is hilarious. I must admit that I have a soft spot for the Irish accent; therefore I find most things they say comical! As you walk into this pub you are welcomed by a large bar with seating scattered to our left and right. As you walk through the pub to the back right you will find a seating area for those wishing to sit and eat. They have a few comfy booths and large tables for big groups. The food is pub grub but the sandwiches and burgers that I have had in the past have always been great and a decent sized portion. The nachos are great if you are a bit peckish and there is a group of you!

Only really fun when you’re with a group of friends and it’s a good place to come to watch football or rugby matches. Aside from being able to have a good pint of Guinness, as well as a range of other drinks, you could have, you can also tuck into some of their Irish pub food. The Limerick ham and Irish cheddar quiche wasn’t bad, and came with a side of salad, new potatoes and soda bread. It’s not the best food I’ve ever tasted, by all means, but it’s the prices are good. This particular branch doesn’t do live music, so if you want to go somewhere more livelier go to their branches in Covent Garden or Wardour Street.

Inexplicably popular the plastic paddy whackery of the O’Neill’s chain continues to draw in the punters — even in Soho which offers so much more choice. Why go to an identikit chain pub when you could just head towards Wardour Street, Dean Street or Old Compton Street instead?

Hmmm. not a fan of this branch. Maybe it was because I had a bad day at work and just wanted to be at home wallowing. the pub is in a great location, but average service(slow, dopey and not particularly cheerful) and I felt it was ‘dirty’ — dining tables were sticky and not wiped; the bar smelt of stale booze and the floors and barhmmm. just as bad. And sticky. ugh. Their selection of 6 or so £5 meals are a great, cheap option — We had a cheese/bacon burger which came 10 chips, was adequate and tasty enough for the price. A companion had the Irish Stew which looked like it came from a can and he commented that the vegetables were still frozen. Never a good thing. Chicken wing nibbles were tasty, however, and the drinks aren’t too badly priced. Handy as an inbetween-shopping drinking hole, but don’t go out of your way for this place. The Soho O’Neills ROCKS!
