Nice bar. Kinda quiet for a sports pub. The selection of brews on tap was excellent though! Cornish Orchard might be my new favorite cider! There were many screens to watch the games on but last call was quite early. Everything seemed to close down pretty early in the area too :/ It’s a good place for a beer or two but wouldn’t recommend if you wanna stay out late and take on the town.

Regular old pub in central London. I am not from London or the UK so honestly I don’t know much about what is or is not«regular» so maybe don’t take my opinion too strongly but here’s what I will say: — Standing outside with some beers was nice — Service was quite slow especially in the downstairs area where we were just ordering some chips — The beer was great — We ordered the wine special which said no where that it was by bottle only then he stated that we had to pay for the entire bottle but couldn’t get just the glass. A little strange to have a special that is bottle only in the first place.

In addition to the negative reviews about beer and vibes, Pavilion End food was also yuck last time I went– Especially chips… «bucket of chips with cheddar» was unpalatable with rubbery texture. Sandwich wasn’t as bad –but not good. We tried this place a couple times but no one liked it for the area has cooler spots offering better food and more liquid selections.

I generally don’t give such low reviews without an active reason, meaning something that a place did wrong to just not really wow me. But, having spent an hour or so at Pavillion End, I can say that the most comfortable I felt was outside on the street, sipping beers and chatting with friends. Inside was just the post-workday suits crowd, a weird combination of stuffy and increasingly drunk. The beer selection also leaves something to be desired, as the nicest thing on the menu is either Chimay or Guinness. Their back bar selection has basically nothing to tempt those of us who are willing to pay more for a great beer. Service was good, though the bar gets really crowded since there is seating around it. There are lots of comfy looking chairs and the place looks like it could be pretty chill, but it doesn’t really feel like a pub, and there are enough other places-with-character near St. Paul’s that I’ll go back to the area to explore those.

We went at kind of an off time(Monday late afternoon) so it probably is much busier normally. When we were there it was pretty quiet, a bunch of suited lawyers, but we had a nice table on the side with comfy chairs to enjoy a drink and a chat. Nothing particularly amazing or unique about it but certainly pleasant enough.

Suits, suits and suits. That what you should expect from any bar or pub in this area post-5pm during the week. Unlike many of the nearby establishments, this is not fully the case. While yes, there are a lot of suits around the area that tend to ruin a good pub experience, The Pavillion End is not one of these. It is one of the nicer bars in the area and definitely one of the bigger ones. There is a good mix of places to sit, including booths, tables and even several very comfortable couches. The pints are very reasonable, had two pints for 6 quid total. One of the best parts is that if you are in here with a colleague, friend, lover or polar bear, they have 2-for-1 burgers… EVERYDAY!!! Don’t fret though, the burgers are delicious, very good sized and come with chips. I was very pleased and surprised to say the least. I am definitely going to have to convince more people to come with me here, as it was a great surprise in an area that I had gotten so against going out in. Well done!

Decent pub in the city, with many big screen tellies showing Sky Sports. Nothing special about this place. For décor and atmosphere, there are many better pubs around that area. But it does have a basement area that can rented out if you have a big group! They serve standard bar food, with their nacho platters not too bad. Drink-wise, pints are quite reasonable for the area at around £2−3 per pint. But they charge £2.30 for a pint of coke, which is exorbitant by any standards! The good thing was that even though it was packed when I went(Champions League Final night), I didn’t have to wait longer than a minute to be served at the bar, which is a definite plus in my book!

Quick service is the name of the game around here, and any place I can get a decent sandwich or salad at lunch within 40 minutes or so, I’m happy with.(Yes I ended that sentence with a preposition, I’m aware, and completely okay with it). Anyway, today I had a nice ‘business’ lunch with a colleague and her boyfriend during the lunch rush, but we still managed to get a table downstairs. Hint: always check downstairs, as most of THECITY folk like to mingle over pints on the main floor. Unlucky for us, a massive table of mothers and little kids were downstairs as well, providing a nice soundtrack of screaming, crying, and that disgusting child cough that makes it sound like they’re going to barf any minute. Other than that, a decent hearty lunch(I indulged my carniverous side with a steak sandwich) within good time. Nothing groundbreaking, but still better than other spots around these streets.

Pavilion End is the perfect after work bar. Great for groups and just as good if you are only with a couple of mates or colleagues. The atmosphere is more like a local pub than a city hang out, though it does still have that swish look that you would expect in this area. The food is not earth shatteringly exciting, but tasty, and the music is loud enough but not blasting. Pavilion End is just the sort of place the city needs more of, but I somehow doubt any more are in the pipeline, at least not for the next year or so.
