The location is great, at the heart of East Finchley, on the High Road at the corner of Fortis Green, next to the Phoenix cinema(which is how we stumbled upon this place). Pizzeria Bufi has a fairly full sized menu, despite being christened a pizzeria. The pasta, pizza and risotto are all very traditional, and use fresh and rustic ingredients to create their stab at the Neapolitan pizzeria. The olives, tomatoes, mozzarella, seafood, and pasta were all fresh, of very good quality. The look and feel of the restaurant is semi-modern, but not exactly super rustic. The place has a family feel, so it’s ok to be loud and chatty The waiters are quite responsive if you ask them for suggestions. The starter platters are well organised, and well portioned. The zucchini fritters are a good option, and the octopus salad is well put together as well. The mozzarella on the pizza was fresh. The rigatoni with ricotta, aubergine and tomato sauce is well worth a mention. Will come back for dessert another time!

Authentic Italian menu with loads of choice. Pizzas tasted great but were a bit small. Salads excellent. Service was very friendly, particularly pleased that our kids nut allergies were taken seriously. Reasonably priced. Overall a good family Sunday lunch.

A local new restaurant we are always happy to support — and so were excited to explore the new local Italian … Having recently had a baby, we popped in early doors(5.45pm) to have a gander and a drink… Unsurprisingly the place was empty. The owner was most disgruntled to learn that the baby was asleep(meaning we couldn’t leave the buggy outside as per his wish) and stuck us in a little corner. We ordered a couple of drinks, and no sooner had we taken the first few sips, the bill was bought over to us by the sour-faced owner. «I didn’t realise you were just having drinks… «- in other words«finish and leave.» never have we been made to feel more unwelcome — and to add insult to injury the restaurant was empty! Anyone looking for an authentic Italian would be much better off going to Va Pensario — just a few footsteps away — or equally la Rugaletta — a friendly neighbourhood Italian with a BYoB policy in the evening… This pretentious restaurant will not survive in this family area — and they have the ‘chutzpah’ to call themselves ‘authentic’ — never have I seen an authentic Italian restaurant with bottles of Heinz Tomato Ketchup on every table — what a joke!!!
