Prezzo

Great stop off before hopping on our coach at Victoria station. Super busy at 6pm because they do a pre-​theatre set menu. We were told it’d be 20 mins for a table and we’re given menus while we waited. The manager is very friendly with great people skills.
In the end we only had to wait 10 minutes. The food was served quickly and was really tasty. I had the gluten free pizza base which was really great (I’d say it’s better than Pizza Express’ GF base).

Price was pretty standard. Would definitely eat here again.

My friend and I came here because we were hungry and it was the closest place that accepted a Tastecard.
As we walked straight into the restaurant, we were «welcomed» with a stern-​faced waitress who sourly told us that we had to wait at the entrance by a non-​existent queue. When we then tried to choose a place to be seated, this was also met by an equally sour, combative attitude where we were told that the table needed to be saved in case larger groups came in — bear in mind, the restaurant was around 60% full and it was 9:30pm on a Wednesday night… She then failed to take our order and after a 20-​minute wait, we had to (with pleasure) get another waitress’ attention. Needless to say that, by this point, this particular waitress had lost any hopes of a tip.
On the plus side, once the food eventually, it was all really good, I had a fish dish and my friend had pizza and it was all very well-​prepared. The cocktails were pretty good too.
It’s a shame, because if it wasn’t for the service, it’s a nice place to go if you’ve got time to kill at Victoria station.

I was in the Victoria station complex looking for something for lunch, and I didn’t fancy something in a bun, so that ruled out he typical fast food places. Fortunately I like Prezzo, and fortunately I knew there was a Prezzo upstairs in the food court. Of course the question is whether I would have realised it was there or not otherwise.
But anyway, I was seated immediately at a smallish table near the door. Everything went fine, I had this chicken and n’duja sausage spaghetti dish which I really enjoyed (love n’duja), although I had to eat it with a knife and fork since I couldn’t trust myself not to flick sauce all over my clean shirt while twirling spaghetti on a fork.
The reason why they lost a star in my view wasn’t because of their treatment of me, which was fine — I’m a middle aged looking balding white man in a suit. But the next table over sat an Asian woman with several bags. She sat before I’d received my main and I managed to eat my entire meal before anyone came to check on her to take her order, despite her making obvious signs that she was ready. It was getting silly frankly.

We had a take out of risotto and spaghetti carbonara. Price was okay, but taste was really disappointing. The spaghetti carbona was not cheesy and creamy at all. The risotto was not tasty too. Overall it was a mediocre experience.

If you can find this place* (see directions below), then it’s actually quite good. It’s large, with lots of comfortable seating and the décor is pretty pleasant. The service (on the three occasions that I have been here) has been warm, friendly and vey accommodating. However, it is possible that they are simply amazed and grateful that anyone can actually find them*!
The food is exactly like, well, every other Prezzo in the country, which is pretty good actually. I LOVE the fact that they offer half-​sized pasta with salad. (More expensive than a full pasta because pasta is cheaper than lettuce!)
So, if you are in Victoria and fancy a quick bite, add 15 minutes on each way for the journey* and head on over.
*To get to Prezzo, take the escalator beside platform 13 (Platform 13 ½ if you will) up to the first floor, walk along past a few shops, until you see another escalator going up on your left. Take it up to the second floor and walk all the way around to the right, past Subway and KFC. It will feel like you are trespassing through a building site — you are, but don’t let that bother you. Keep walking… pretend you are in a ‘Lord of the Rings’ movie… keep walking… almost there… you’ll smell garlic first, then in the far distance… keep walking… suddenly, an oasis that is Prezzo! And yes, you are absolutely exactly back to where you started at the top of the escalator. You will have done a full lap of the floor, but they put a wall in for no reason between the escalator and the restaurant, forcing you to walk three miles round the other way. But at least you will have worked up an appetite…

This is definitely the best place to eat in Victoria Station. The food is of better quality than the alternatives and at the price point it’s worth spending a little extra for exponentially better food relative to the quick service establishments. That said, the service is spotty with regard to attentiveness, but for the most part very courteous and friendly.
They seem to make their pasta fresh which is always a plus and use quality fish and meat suppliers, but some of their interpretations of sauces fall short. Their tendency to err on the side of under-​seasoned and bland does not resonate with me. It’s not so hard to be daring, especially given the fact that you’re an Italian restaurant.
Overall, it is the best option in the station, so if you’re on-​the-​go and have 40 minutes to spare, this is your spot. Grab yourself a large Peroni and indulge… You’ll feel better afterward than if you had eaten KFC or McDogfood ;)

The food looked nice but was very bland. Service was good. A little expensive for bland food. I’d find another place nearby.

Since I was staying at the Grosvenor Hotel, I spent a lot of time at Victoria Station, not only to ride the tube but to get food. I decided to try Prezzo one night, since Italian sounded really good, and the restaurant looked pretty nice. I was by myself, so I got the food to go. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was ready in just a few minutes. I ordered the bolognese. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all. There was a large red pepper on top, so it was on the spicy side. Plus, some of the bites I took tasted a little weird, almost as if some of the food had gone bad, but that could have been my imagination.
