In general this is a good Sainsbury’s. It has a clothing section, a home wares section, toys, Games, DVDs etc etc as well as the general food shop, but this is def not the place to grab a quick bite to eat in the café! We have graced the café with our presence twice now before the weekly shop and on both occasions the service has been incredibly slow. The food is ok but for a café over a large supermarket you would think that they would not run out of eggs or serve limp salad, especially when they have access to all that in the store below. They make an attempt to serve vegetarian food but it is never available when I have been here. Prices are reasonable so I guess you are paying for what you are getting but it really could be better. 20 mins plus for food on a not that busy morning. The café staff and the kitchen work independently of each other so one has to inform the other if food arrives but hot drinks have not been made and vice versa. In general I would say it is rather inefficient and def not the best place to pop into for a quick lunch unless you have time to spare. Otherwise it is what you would expect from a larger Sainsbury’s store. Xyz

I brought a friend here once as she said, and I quote, «this is the best sainsburys I have ever been to». Now until then I was a bit blasé about the place I mean it is a supermarket right? You go there to buy food and that’s it, right? Well seeing it through someone else’s eyes really opened mine to how wrong I was. Not all supermarkets are alike, the fact that this one was majorly refurbished and they didn’t just shove more in but instead they spread things out really makes a difference to the shopping experience. As I don’t go that regularly I hadn’t noticed that they had made the aisles so huge that no trolley has to ever be the cause of you giving up the search for ginger again. Other people’s children having a tantrum need not prevent you from picking up that muesli, and shelf stacking? No problem, you can walk around the cages easily and still pick up that milk. Obviously they are a chain and so carry the same lines as other sainsburys but thanks to the size of the shop they have more. I haven’t really ventured up but they have a café and clothing upstairs according to the signs. So my friend was happy that I had planned so poorly that I had to stop off in the shops to pick up dinner ingredients. And I was happy that she was happy. So if you are in South west London, looking for a big sainsburys with lots of things well spaced out and easy to find, then you would need look no further.

This is a huge supermarket that has pretty much everything you could need. It’s surprisingly big for a store in a city. I would expect this more in the country or the suburbs. Everyone should have a store like this within walking distance.

This Sainsbury’s just underwent a major facelift. After months of scaffolding and construction, it closed for a week in November and re-opened with a new parking garage, and a huge store extension. The grocery side of the store is mostly unchanged. Standard big Sainsbury’s on that side. However, it now also has home accessories, small appliances, etc. on the ground floor and clothing upstairs. The whole place is a bit shinier and seems to be keeping up with the improvement the whole area has been getting as its across-the-street neighbord Southside improves & expands.

This Sainsbury’s has been refurbished, it is now a lot more spacious and has a first floor which has clothes and a café. They’re still expanding the car park but it seems a lot easier to get parked than it did before. It’ll be even better when it’s a multi storey. Didn’t get 5 stars because I couldn’t get a couple of items I was looking for.
