Why is it so hard to stock the shelves of this store? It’s a total gamble whether or not they’ll have something on the shelves at a particular time. I bought some cheese scones to try. I liked them, went back a couple of days later, and there weren’t any on the shelves. Two days later, still nothing. Two more days yet, and they finally restocked a few packages. Very crowded store, and it’s sometimes tough to find a hand basket. Employees are generally busy talking to each other instead of helping customers.

every time I go to this location so many shelves are empty. I’ll be may 6 – 6:30 pm and there will be refrigerated areas covered and with no stock. They also stop with the hot food early. I feel like Dalston is getting the short end of the stick. The Camden one is so much better but obviously also bigger but I lived in Muswell Hill and that was wasn’t big but was so much better. Forgive me for thinking it’s cause this one is in Hackney and they think they can get away with a lack of quality.

This Sainsbury’s is very big and the first one I see that stocks clothes, It is located inside Dalston Shopping Centre(which I am not sure if I like or not) and is easily accessible from where I live, so it is one of the places where I do my daily shopping. It is confusing because the alleys don’t seem to have any logical order and everything looks a bit mixed, but the range of products you can find there is good and varied. It is not too busy, so is a good place to do your shopping without waiting in lines for hours!

Hidden away in the rather grim Kingsland shopping centre this Sainsburys is much bigger then you would expect. One of my standard supermarkets that I shop in every week. Standard fare nothing here for foodies to get excited about but big enough to stock most things. The staffing levels are questionable often very long queues in the mornings during the week when they only have a few tills open. I wouldn’t dream of visiting on a Saturday

Dear Mr Sainsbury’s, please open another one of your stores in E8. I don’t think I can bear going to your Dalston store for much longer. Some points 1. It’s in a shopping centre that stinks of sweet pop corn. 2. It’s crazy busy and the queues block the aisles. 3. There are insane people wandering the store. 4. Your selection of fresh fish is not great. 5. To get to the store I have to walk up the ramp at the back where everyone has their fag break next to the no smoking sign. 6. I also have to pass the rubbish busker singing Wonderwall. 7. When I drive, not only do I have to validate my ticket with a cashier but then I have to do it again at the pay machine. I usually realise this when exiting the car park with 6 cars beeping behind me. If you can’t find space for a massive one, that’s OK. Just open a small one so I can get fresh meat on a Sunday evening. You’d better be quick though, every week I find another new Tesco express within a mile of where I live. Kind Regards Tristan

Huge considering the location. Stocks some kitchenware and home stuff in addition to all the usual groceries. Very rarely have to go further afield for a bigger store. The one problem is that the queues are frequently massive.

Viviane. You are crazy. I don’t know you. but I can totally see where you are coming from on the missing driving to the local grocery store front. but Sainsburys in Dalston DRIVESMECRAZY! I don’t really like to write about chains on Unilocal, but this one is so terrifyingly terrible that I had to Unilocal it. It’s always so crowded, and there are screaming children EVERYWHERE, and there is always a long line at the check out. I know this isn’t really Sainsbury’s fault, it’s more the customers. But THIS sainsbury’s has an overwhelming amount of customers. Otherwise, as a Sainsburys goes, it’s a good grocery store chain. Reasonable prices(not cheap, but not ridiculous) and they give you points for shopping there. and they have a pretty wide selection. But I have started going to the tesco express just to avoid the people.

Food is definitely an important part of life! The one thing I miss about living at home is the convenience of jumping in a car and driving to a huge supermarket and being able to buy a random herb or extremely fresh vegetables! Sainsbury’s in the Dalston Shopping centre is a decent size. It is located right next door to Iceland which is always useful if you are having a huge party! The selection of fruit and veg is great. If you are after a specific meat like a fresh Turkey for Thanks-giving or Christmas call them before to make sure as they do not always have them in stock but will find out your closest store that will. It is never too busy, I have been at many different times of the day and there is a general flow of people, but no chaotic rush hour times to avoid. The whole selection of meats, seafood, bakery, cleaning products and alcohol is available.
