One of the best pizza places I ever been, great pizza, all fresh and great quality ingreadients. And the place just make you fill in Italy with a really friendly staff Not many tables so sometimes is worth getting as a take away or passing earlier to get your name on the list(is worth the waiting)

I lived in Ealing for approximately 18 months, and ate here almost weekly. I still make a monthly pilgrimage via work to eat here and remind myself what I’m missing. It’s a cosy spot, well situated on St Mary’s Road, and sitting outside in the summer is as good as it gets. Absolutely, unequivocally, the best pizza in London. It is all good, but my advice? Keep it simple: the Santa Bufalina(essentially a posh margherita) is the apogee of using mozzarella, dough and tomatoes. It gets busy, especially at weekends and evenings, but worth the wait. Cannot wait for their Chelsea branch.

Very cosy place and authentic Italian vibe but when we tried to order another glass of wine we were told we had to vacate the table –we had spent a lot of money but as there is a no booking system we had to get out –not relaxing and Pizzas too simple with a soggy middle –would not recommend

Time and again I have been here and every time I love it! Beautiful fresh pizza made with a pizza oven shipped over brick by brick from Napoli. The owners here are extremely proud of their pizza and so they should be. I love the quaintness of the restaurant as well. They could get a bigger place easily judging by the lines for a table outside the door every night but no they want to keep it small and intimate with just enough covers to make the atmosphere great! The only negative I a have is sometime the clientele to hang a little long on these tables. But hey that is the Italian way! Definitely one of the top 5 in London.

Beautiful pizza, fresh ingredients and very authentic! I love their pizza bases, so crisp and tasty! The inside is very tight(some may say«cosy») but the atmosphere is great and overall it’s a fantastic place to eat!

Santa Maria is claimed by some to be the best pizza place in London. I’d say if it’s not #1, then definitely in Top10 or in other words one of the best in Ealing for sure. The place itself is tiny with just 6 tables offering seating for 16 people altogether inside the restaurant and a couple of tables outside. It seems like there is a lot of staff as you hear Italian quarrel while waiting for your pizza, but it just adds up to the authentic atmosphere. They do takeaway as well, that can justify the big crew of staff. I went for San Gennaro pizza with anchovies, black olives and capers and also tried my friend’s Calzone San Salvatore with prosciutto, mozzarella and ricotta. Both were delicious and juicy with a good portion of tomato sauce spread across the thin dough. Definitely recommended!

I have been here a few times & really enjoyed it. The pizzas are delicious, authentic & lots of variety. It’s a nice hidden little pizza gem in West London! The only 2 negatives I would have to say are that they do not do any bookings & therefore may be waiting a while for a table as it gets very busy. And last thing is that they do not have good quality wine.

Best pizza Ive ever had, super fresh ingredients. Traditional italian. Long wait, as expected for really great food. Honest prices. The bruschetta as a starter is amazing as well.

As sure as you can be after eating one pizza(and a couple of starters), this place is worth the hype. A tiny little restaurant that doesn’t take reservations so can be hard to get seated at peak times. Lots of choice in the menu but all pizzas are kept fairly simple and not overtopped like most takeaways pizza. At 9.95 a pizza, it’s a pretty good deal for definitely one of the best pizzas in London.

Some people like judging places purely on food. For other people, it’s the whole experience. I’d like to say that I fall into the latter category. It’s hard to outright claim(if you’re a rational person) that a single place is the«best» based on a single experience. I’ve had great pizza in London, and Santa Maria is up there — probably top 2 — but I’d have to go again to say for sure. Living in East London, Ealing Broadway is understandably a pilgrimage of sorts, even for a rabid pizza nerd. What I will remember though, is wonderful service. A pizzaiolo who sang, a real neighbourhood feel and an idyllic location surrounded by beautiful houses and greenery. A simple, wonderful affogato and a cold lemon soda. And delicious pizza, with a light and chewy crust charred perfectly, topped with delicious passata and generous hunks of buffalo mozzarella. People waited patiently or sat outside, and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. I would happily haul ass again to West London to verify its place in my mind as my favourite pizzeria in London. It made me happy, and I can’t really ask for more than that.

The hype for this place, is huge, so many people have praised this place and so, of course, it seemed like the right thing to try this place for myself. The restaurant is indeed, very small, bright with high ceilings and the kitchen in the same room lends a rustic, but modern feel. Nice enough. Service was good, quite alot of staff for such a small room though! We tried the bruschetta, which was good and highly disappointing at the same time: the bread was crunchy and garlicky, but slightly burnt, the tomatoes had boring oregano which did nothing and were blander than bland(good bruschetta does exist!) The pizza was good, soft, chewy, doughy crust, generous toppings, we all agreed there were alot of toppings for your money, just the way it should be. I had the San Mattia which was mushrooms, mountains of Parmesan and truffle oil on a white base. I got extra ham with it, which was thrown into the middle, I think if it was spread out, then it would have got abit crispy in the oven. I ate the lot, I think this is a good representation of a decent pizza from this side of Italy. Tiramisu was good, lots of layers, bit too much alcoholic sponge and not quite enough cream. Overall, I had a good time, would love to see more interesting pizza topping combos though. Worth 50% of the hype but I would love to go again.

The best pizza in London /the UK! I’ve never been to Italy unfortunately but this is how I imagine the pizza will taste when I do go! Fantastic value for money too. You can’t book but can put your name down on a waiting list and there’s a lovely pub to have a drink in next door while you’re waiting!

To me, it was just average at best. The tomato sauce was quite watery and there was nothing exceptional about the pizza. Perhaps I went at the wrong time(noon on Monday), but the flavors were quite bland. I understand that Neapolitan pizza is supposed to be simple, and I have had some great Neapolitan pizza, but this pizza was not simple, it was bland.

WOW! I had been keeping my eye on this place through the refurbishment period and to definitely go before I left for the states… glad I did and I might go again! This little charm is perfect in every way… charming knowledgable Italian server, cute and cozy interior, good selection of wine, and the fresh, amazing, delicious pizzas! I had the San Mattia with truffle. Note that there is no red tomato sauce, but who cares! It’s as moist and fresh as it gets! Dessert, homemade Tiramisu of course and to really spruce up your espresso, have it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it, such a delight! For me, it’s not just the food that makes a great dining experience, it’s the whole atmosphere and here-you just feel like you are in Italy having divine food! PS– Be prepared to wait up to an hour, but don’t let that deter you… go have some wine/beer at the pub next door to wet your appetite, DONE!

Was in Ealing for an event and decided to come here based on Unilocal rating. Its a small restaurant which was very busy. Luckily we were only 2 and they had a room in the back with a couple of small tables free. Positives: + Attentive and quite quick service + Nice tasting pizzas of decent size + Good value for money On the down side: — I found the garlic focaccia a bit bland — My pizza base was pretty floppy — I was using cutlery to eat the pizza anyway, but not sure if I could have used hands to eat this if I wanted to — It was very very hot in the back room. Verdict: Overall very positive, will return if am in Ealing again, good pizza but didn’t have my mind blown like I was expecting given the hype about the place.

Wow yum yum, this is the best pizza I’ve had in London. It Still doesn’t beat Lombardi’s in New York for me but it comes a close second. This restaurant is teeny tiny inside, theres prob max of 10 tables, The restaurant has a really nice vibe, the guys were singing in Italian as the sun shone outside. The pizzas are very thin and soggy but thats the way I like it, I got the Santa Bufalina and it was delicious! The service wasn’t amazing at the restaurant but I didn’t find them rude or unfriendly and will definitely be going back. I can’t believe it took me so long to visit

Rated by Timeout and London Evening Standard as «The Best Pizza in London», we figured we had to give this a try since we were in the area. And we needed to know: whats all the buzz surrounding Neapolitan pizza? Guess we just don’t understand it. wasn’t for me :/ A few notes about Neapolitan pizza(for those who don’t really know): — usually 1 size, roughly 12″ — base is thin, and the crispy crust has layers of poofiness — served uncut — cooks in a wood oven in about 2 minutes — best enjoyed by eating in. Take out will cool the pizza down quickly, steam within the box, and make it soggy — the center is usually a bit soggy /wet — basic /minimal toppings, with a balanced ratio of crust to toppings — toppings are kept simple: fresh mozzarella, basil, oregano, crushed tomatoes, salami. pretty much back to basics(ie: not Americanized) We did do takeout b/c it was going to be a 45-min wait. so we broke one of the cardinal rules! The pizza definitely was cold after a 5 minute drive. The pizza did meet all of the above rules, but maybe the cold pizza dampened the experience. But I think even if it was hot, a Neapolitan pizza isn’t for me. Simple and delicious toppings, yes, but I really can’t stand a soggy center, even if the outer crust is beautifully puffy and crispy. We also ordered garlic bread, which wasn’t garlicky at all. I think they might have used garlic powder or a garlic-infused butter /oil for it. But either way, it just tasted like salty oregano bread. On the plus side, the price is right for an entire pizza to feed one person, roughly £9.
