Their shaved ice/Bingsoo is SOGOOD!!! I personally would consider this place more of a Korean styled Japanese food establishment. I literally only come here for their shaved ice and nothing else because it’s just that good! The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 star is just that they automatically add a mandatory 10% service charge on your bill and their food is a bit expensive. I haven’t had the chance to try anything other than their Bingsoo since the other food is rather pricey and I didn’t particularly feel inclined to order food from here. Otherwise, their Bingsoo alone is a solid 5 star. Presentation is beautiful and so instagram worthy, LOL. It’s in a fantastic location and I love the atmosphere. They play pretty good K-Pop tunes in the background and it’s a really relaxed atmosphere. Interior is nice and clean, but I must say that there was one time I wanted to go to Shibuya right when they opened but for some reason, they were closed during that time and still cleaning/prepping? That really put a damper on my plans and was unexpected. I have had the Matcha Bingsoo and the Kinako Bingsoo. Personally, I prefer the Matcha as the bitterness of matcha really balances out the overall sweetness of the dessert. I found the Kinako one to be too sweet for my liking(I don’t eat that sweet though) and it tasted a bit like cereal to me. Kinako is basically roasted soybean which I do love, but I preferred matcha. The bitterness was a nice touch to counter the sweetness of the condensed milk and shaved ice. The red bean topping(azuki) is quite sweet too, but that’s only if you consider it by itself. I think it could be a little less sweet, though. However, it’s pretty much the PERFECT amount of sweetness with the shaved ice, as the shaved ice itself isn’t very sweet and very light. Eating this was like HEAVEN. The flakes are literally like SNOW, it’s so light and fluffy and airy, it’s like you could just easily blow it away! It’s not even an exaggeration. Not to mention that it tastes nothing like water, it actually tastes faintly sweet and milky! As soon as you put a spoonful in your mouth it just completely melts and disappears, it is so magical. There was a sufficient amount of condensed milk too that was served with the shaved ice and it is SO good. A sweet dairy/custard addition to all the light fluffy airy flakes and then you get the sweet azuki and slightly bitter matcha(great tea flavour)…it’s just a mega flavour explosion in your mouth! It’s seriously so good and the best shaved ice I have ever had. Everything just goes together so well and balances each other out! I would get this over ice cream/gelato any day and it’s so well done, it’s not too sweet and the quality as well as texture is amazing. Although I would obviously LOVE have more, you get a pretty decent portion for it’s price. It’s really worth getting the Bingsoo!!!

The shaved ice here was really yummy! Not too much ice and good amount or sweetness. The place is a little small and can sometimes be crowded, but overall really nice with delicious Uni!

Shibuya serves Japanese food but it is popular for their dessert — Soho Bing. This is a a dessert where milk is turned in to snow. The texture is a soft snow and it taste like ice cream. There are five different topping of bing to select and each one comes in two sizes, small(£5.90) and regular(£7.90). Out of all the different bing I like the Kinako Bing which is a bing topped with roasted soybean flour, sweet red bean and drizzle with condensed milk. You also get a separate small pot of condensed milk if not enough. If you are a green tea fan the there is a Matcha Bing where the bing is topped with matcha powder, sweet red bean and drizzle with condensed milk. The mango bing is a hit and miss, as the fresh mango can be sour if it is not in season. The Japanese food served at Shibuya is probably better at other place like Eat Tokyo. I would give the sushi a miss and go for one of their rices which are beautifully presented. However, it can be expensive to dine here when you compare to Eat Tokyo which is value for money. Shibuya has seatings over two floors but still small. So I do not recommend it for large group. It is a place you can have dinner and finish off dessert at the same place.

I would say this place is better for desserts so if somehow you feel like eating Japanese food, go to Eat Tokyo or Kyoto instead, it’s only the next street along(Romily Street). The portions are pretty small compared to the eye watering price, so you would not be getting value for money here. We ordered the Dragon Roll. When it came, we were confused because it didn’t look like a dragon roll, although two different members of staff assured us that it was a dragon roll. Oh well. Chirashi is ok but nothing special. I find their appetisers to be very very strange indeed. It could be like a slice of veg or something equally mysterious but noone had any idea what it was. Black cod looks tiny! They should really up the portions considering the price. The Soho Bings were the most interesting offering here. It’s frozen milk shredded with fruits/condensed milk. It will definitely give you brain freeze.
