A very pleasurable lunch experience at Sixty One was one of the highlights of the boozy silly season at the end of 2015. It’s fine dining but isn’t stuffy, the portion sizes aren’t huge but they fill you up. The menu is compact but traditionally British with the pork belly and dover sole being a couple of highlights. The smashed potato side was beautiful, as were the sprout tops. The wine list is pricey, cheapest £38, but of a very high quality with a few decent ones by the glass. The service very polite, attentive, as you’d expect. The décor is neutral and relaxing. Overall it’s not cheap, what you’d expect for this part of town but you could do a lot worse! Recommend,

Sixtyone was our most exciting find in a long, long time. From the start we had a good feeling about this one. The staff was warm and unpretentious and presented us with a tasting menu and wine list. We decided not to inquire about a la carte and dove straight in…(menu pic uploaded) and every single dish(including a bonus desert) was memorable. The show stopper was the pork belly with wasabi and smoked rib broth which was indescribable. And on top of food that rivaled our experience at three star Michelin dinners, was the near perfect level of attentiveness to detail and service. Simply put, the team at Sixtyone deserve far more attention than they currently receive. One last reflection… When you find a restaurant this exceptional without a single Michelin star, it makes you wonder if there’s a better way to discover the world’s culinary talent and creativity. Until then, we’re just glad to have found Sixtyone and wish good luck to chef Arnaud Stevens and this remarkable team!

This place is fine dining but much more casual or for corporate lunches. Either way there is a lot of attention to detail in terms of aesthetic of the food and the restaurant itself. We came here with friends for their set menu and found it to be very lovely indeed. The service was very attentive and friendly and the food had streaks of innovation to well known dishes. I liked the bread that they gave which was fresh and diverse and their selection of wines had quality but was simple and not overboard. Most produce seems to come from the UK and there is emphasis on freshness and enhancing tastes. Portions were not huge, but this is expected. Definitely recommend for a nice quiet weekend lunch as a couple or with friends For a casual fine dining lunch this place is not too expensive when on the set meal but provides value for money
