Within moments of walking in the door, Sosho had vaulted its way to the top of my list ‘Places to Wear Sunglasses Indoors Around Shoreditch’.( ) Terrible, clueless crowd dancing badly, horribly overpriced mixed drinks, crap sound and terrible music, no soap in the toilets, helium balloons, outrageous door fee… must I go on? Walking in to Sosho was so awful it almost made me gleeful. «At least I’ll have another awful Shoreditch club to whine about on Unilocal,» I thought as another drunken guy in a ill-fitting t-shirt tried to impress me by nasty-dancing in front of me while the DJ played some sort of heinous electro-jazz. I was desperately looking around for someone to curl up and die when I saw no less than three men walk past in a span of two minutes wearing sunglasses at 2am. One set of said sunglasses were heart-shaped, no less. Anyone else want to fight for the suckiest club in Shoreditch prize? This is going to be tough to beat.

Came here for the Big Chill Festival Pre weekender and was treated to an amazing warren of rooms!(Actually the night included the private club East Rooms as well, which was lush, but I don’t think I spent enough time in there whiles in a state fit to write about it). We had a fun night, but to think about it, there was nothing spectacular about this club– especially after the event at nYne last week! There are 2 dance floors which came with raised leather seating area, pretty banging sound systems and really expensive drinks– well obviously, since the night was free and there was schawg at the door. It didn’t strike me as normally a pretty spectacular place and am doubtful whether a lot of the cool décor would be there on a regular night(cushion seating/chill out area, blow up toys, draw wall, paddle pools, tent etc). I guess this makes it ideal for the more«challenging» club nights where promoters are willing to put the effort in to transform the club into something special. The sheer numbers of rooms and floors with different themes was amazing and I loved the East Rooms part of it when we had a nose round; but unfortunately this joint function seem to be an one off rather than the norm. There are a few club nights I go to which are sometimes hosted at the sosho, so I am sure I will be back.

Very slick and sleek was my first impression when I arrived to Sosho Match bar last night. When I saw the campaign bottles on the tables I knew the name of the game. The venue consist from a large and spacious lounge that is a mix of leather and candlelight, and shadowy, curtained corners with sofas. The cocktail bars covers pretty much everything and they do some quality drinks. The place pretty relaxed but definitely with a very clubby vibe. During the evening the music was just terrible, so awful. It was like they had agreed to have the same beat through the whole evening with highest possible bass volume, so it would be clear to everyone what this place with a late license wants to be like. The location is pretty tucked away, maybe ten minutes walk from Shoreditch, and for me this bar is not a good reason enough to leave my hoods.

Cocktail Bar at its stylish ambience. Looking to network or a work social evening then this is the one. In fact the music is loud enough for you to turn a deaf ear at your colleagues complaining or gossiping. Its sexy and gives you a thrill. The interiors is very chic. You can shake a leg eventually, the dj is good at it. The drinks are a good mix at the hands of professional bartenders. I went to catch up with a school friend after more than 8 years. It was quiet a charming evening.
