Exceptional customer service. The garden is spacious and comfy. Good for drinks and food. Causal hang out.

This was my first visit to The Charles Holden, as I was staying next door at the Holiday Inn Express. I wanted a bite to eat & found the menu excellent, covering most tastes. Staff were very friendly and interactive with clients. My dish of courgette, couscous & Mediterranean ragout was very tasty and was well presented. The ambience is good & a very pleasant garden area adds to the appeal. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

I stopped off at Colliers Wood Tube for a quick one before bed and had the best time. They had a DJ and everyone was so friendly it was a great night!

6 real ales pumps, Broadside, GKIPA, Bombadier, Doombar. A rugby pub, look for the large rugby ball above the door, bright interior, Raised area at the back. Tables are bookable. They advertise a weekend bonfire. Update: The price of a pint of Thwaite’s Wainwright ale is £3.95 and it’s only 4.1%. Not going in there again. Changing my rating.

The Collier’s Tup is a grand old pub just across the road from Collier’s Wood tube station. It’s spacious inside and they have a massive outdoor section. The bar is fully-stocked with all of your favourite nectars and they have a special focus on South African wines, really good stuff. Sometimes you’ll find DJs playing there on the weekend, but cheese on toast pop music is understandably the order of the day. The last time I was here I remember being pleasantly surprised: attending a birthday party in the cold, wet outside area I noticed a barman spray some firelighters onto a massive bonfire and light the flames. It gets so hot that you can’t even come within 7m of the huge flame, and without a doubt it immediately warms up the whole area with vivid imagery and the sweet smell of wood burning. Health and safety nuts need not worry, the fire takes place in controlled circumstances.

Located opposite the Colliers Tup underground station, the pub inevitably attracts commuters and city suits. An older clintele, the Tup has an over 21 year old policy, so you have to show id if you look younger than 30! I happen to like old men pubs, but only the ones with character and a bit of atmosphere. They have quiz nights and theme parties and like to think of themselves as a fun, friendly pub for the locals. I’ve only been inside once but that was enough for me, heavily football orientated, they had screens throughout the pub playing the game, loud enough to disrupt my conversation with my friends. Unfriendly, lazy bar staff annoy me at the best of times but for some reason at the Tup I was mighty thankful when we finally left. It’s definitely not a pub for the younger crowd, if you’re 40 or above and like that sort of thing, then fine. As for me, I won’t be going back.

This place is great seeing as it is one of the few rugby focused pubs i’ve come accross. It’s quite a South African-y place, it’s it’s a good size, there’s parking, they have a lot of different nights there including poker nights, and the beer garden is the best beer garden i have ever seen(and they have out door patio heaters.) I’ve also noticed that you can hire a BBQ and have it in their garden for large groups of people, which is a pretty cool idea. Bar staff are mostly friendly, though i have come accross a few grumpy ones there that have made me feel like I was an alien for being chatty. But overall it’s good pub in a good location, if you’re a rugby fan it’s the place to be. I would recommend this pub if you are in the Colliers Wood area.

This pub is an institution in Colliers Wood. It’s a ‘rugby’ pub which screens live rugby and footie matches. The bar staff are friendly and the beer flows readily. I particulary like the vibe and how the tables are arranged. There’s even a fireplace where you can warm yourself with a glass of whisky. There’s a big area outside which is lovely in summer with tables and a marquee. Plus they have bbq’s which you can take your own meat to and there is often a massive bonfire. The Tup holds lots of parties and they never disappoint. Check this place out for a good time.

If you live in the south you know the choices of where-to-go are quite limited. The Colliers Tup is always a good option. Lively, with a good mix of regulars and once-off visitors it has a nice layout. Its good to watch sports games with a big screen and regular screenings. It has regular theme nights with live music and a good vibe. Its got a lovely outside area that in summer hosts barbeques. All-in-all, there always seems to be something up and the Tup.
