Really wish we’d been here for breakfast, because the breakfast menu looks cracking. Sadly we were here for lunch. The lunch menu goes like this: there are two starters. Then you can basically have one of two £30 main courses, which are heavy on things like truffled mash and fillet of beef. Status stuff for business travellers. Then there’s the pasta. A salmon lasagna at about £20, and then, at £14, your choice of pasta with your choice of four sauces. That is it. My heart sank a bit, because at this point it was clear our wallets were going to be vigorously pumped. I went for some pea and shallot tortellini with a butter/thyme sauce. My girlfriend went for the same, but with mint pesto.(Her initial choice of asparagus and ricotta ravioli was somewhat brusquely rejected — they were out of it.) Now: I don’t know how much pasta you expect for £14, but I don’t expect five tortellini. It looked like a starter portion. And, while it was a perfectly nice dish, with fresh-tasting pasta and a decent sauce, I couldn’t stop thinking about the markup. It’s a bit steep, guys. Not everyone flying out of here is off to Luxembourg to check on the hedge fund. This bogglement is somewhat compounded when you realise that among the pasta options are tagliatelle and fusilli. So you could very easily be paying £14 for a plate of unfilled pasta in a butter sauce, which is the sort of thing I used to do for 14p when I was a student. The waiter asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, and I’m afraid a short, bitter chuckle escaped my lips. We declined any further pumping, paid our forty quid and left. As I write this I am eating some crisps, because I’m still hungry, and crisps are the only thing in the airport that doesn’t require an appointment with your financial advisor to budget for.

I just had a first class English breakfast here with poached eggs that were perfectly presented. The service was fast and efficient and the food served was hot and nicely cooked with a cup of english tea and freshly squeezed orange juice for around £15-definitely worth the money. i also like the table positioning as you can see the boards easily to make sure you reach the gates in time.
