Went here looking for a tasty meal of a Saturday evening. Having ordered the sausage platter, I found the sausages flaccid and lacking both flavour and structural rigidity. The accompanying chips would have been more appetising if they had been made from the detritus that accumulates in one’s eyes during sleep. Finally the gravy had both the appearance and taste of the liquid that one removes from a radiator when bleeding it. I hope this offence to the very concept of the sausage will be given a thorough once over in the near future.

The precarious state of my bowels stands as testament to an inordinately dubious Fitzrovia pub dish, the £11.49 Sausage Platter. I am lucky to have escaped with my life. Never before have sausages been so brutally starved of their potential greatness. The six grey slabs which Fitzrovia served me tonight occupied that strange hinterland between«undercooked» and«may as well be gnawing on a pig that is still living». The Stella Artois on the other hand was very well-poured. Cheers!

I’ve visited a couple of times. It’s nice, reliable place to drop in for a drink. It has a classic British pub feel to it. On my first visit, I dropped in on a rainy afternoon when it was almost empty. The burger was fairly average, as well as the wine selection. The staff were friendly and attentive. On the second visit, the place was in the throes of football madness. I enjoyed the mulled wine and the atmosphere. Overall, an okay place, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit.

This is a nice looking pub, not huge, dark panelled wood, lots of different types of tables, chairs etc. We visited on a Thursday lunchtime and were only going to stay for a swift drink, which we bought at the bar and sat down with. When we were almost finished, we were about to get up and leave when the assistant manager came over to ask if we would like any more drinks or anything to eat. She was so friendly that we decided to get something small. We ordered more drinks, I ordered a scotch egg and my friend ordered a bacon sandwich(not on the menu, but the AM thought it wouldn’t be a problem). The new drinks and food arrived quickly and we went to tuck in. My scotch egg was really nice — the yolk was runny and to be honest, it looked a little weird, but it tasted really really nice. The problem lay with the bacon sandwich — which only had one pathetic piece of bacon in between two flimsy slices of bread. We immediately complained, and they took it away, put another slice of bacon in it and brought it back. I think it would have been better to have a fresh sandwich, but we lived with it. The AM came back over to ask us if everything was ok, and we told her honestly that we felt the bacon sandwich was unacceptable. She handled the feedback with such grace, she took the sandwich off the bill and apologised, promised to take the feedback to the manager and the chef and made us feel pretty good about the whole incident. So, I would recommend the pub, just check that they have changed their bacon sandwich recipe before ordering it!

Buzzy pub on a Friday night, to while away a couple of hours after a meal across the road. Typical chain pub. Sit at the raised tables by the windows, the window ledge is large enough and great to keep your bags and coats!

Ended up wandering into The Fitzrovia as part of a recent hen do. I originally wasn’t exactly thrilled at the idea of popping in here — we were all dressed up to the nines and I was pretty hesitant in regards to pricing. I mean, why go somewhere in this central area when we could go a few roads over and find somewhere more suitable and probably cheaper? Sometimes you just have to go with the crowd. The Fitzrovia looks very traditional on the outside but, on the inside, it just feels a bit drab, almost like a Wetherspoons, with large wooden tables and badly patterned carpets. Bar service was speedy, especially for a Friday night, but the last order bell rang out at 11pm. The atmosphere was okay, quite calm for a Friday, apart from a creepy looking bunch of lads taking up the area infront of the ladies toilets. Needless to say, we drank up and moved on, without a wee.

Popped in today for lunch a jacket potato. Was flabbergasted when it arrived and was about the size of a roast potato. Spoke to the manager was told that’s just the size they are this time of year. Pointed out that normal sized jacket potatoes are available year round in supermarkets and was told well they come like that from our supplier. So how about using two then? that’s not a lunch, it’s a ripoff! was not offered an additional potato but just given the option of swapping for something else from the menu. As this was the only veggie option I had no choice but to eat it(in about 2 mins!) and pick up something else from a sandwich shop on my way back to the office. An absolute ripoff!

A nice little pub on the corner. Which sells Hoegaarden. Prices for double shots are high, but otherwise there is decent offering on drinks. The menu has some interesting flavoured chips. The atmosphere is quite noisy, but then it seems to be a popular after work pub.

This pub has been through so many incarnations that I cant remember the names but once was known as the Duke of Wellington. Fairly ordinary, indifferent place with good meals

Went to the Fitzrovia for lunch with some co-workers. Not only were they out of chicken(which is in half the things on the menu), but the food we could get just wasn’t very good. There are a ton of better pubs with better prices within three or four blocks of this place so I’d recommend heading elsewhere.

I have entered this place as I needed a venue for the following festival. Camden Green Travel Festival. The area of Fitzrovia, especially Charlotte Street has a lot of history, which I will not attempt to write here. Check the events list for 24th September.

I stopped into the Fitzrovia with a few friends to kill an hour before restaurants started opening for dinner. We were starving for whatever reason, but unfortunately, the Fitzrovia wasn’t serving food either. We did buy some bar nuts, which were decent, but one can only be so happy with bar nuts exchanged for value. We sat at a high table and there were a few other customers as well as a couple televisions playing. The atmosphere was that of a pleasant pub, relaxed and kind of cheerful. We ordered a pitcher of Pimm’s Classic off of a menu advertising quite a few Pimm’s cocktails. It was a fair £11 and it quenched the thirst of four. It was really refreshing, a little bit sweet with bits of orange and strawberry mixed in, as well as some mint. I would sip on a glass of that cocktail by any swimming pool, and I’d be happy with it in any pub. We didn’t stay long, but we had a good time talking and catching up while nursing our drinks. The Fitzrovia was a cute pub in a cute neighborhood, and easily my favorite of the pubs I visited on my trip to London.

I went to Fitzrovia for their Steak and Ale pie but unfortunately, they have a menu that changes each day. The pie of the day was some Thai something pie, which I found dry and disappointing, but they redeemed themselves with their Treacle Sponge Cake. It was divine. Also, I love that they have Jacques, my favorite cider. Ambiance is great too. A big fireplace sits on one side, with comfy leather seats in front. This place gets busy for both lunch and evening bar crawls.

Pub anglais classique, on commande au bar uniquement ! Les tarifs sont super abordables. Evidemment vous trouverez des bières et le fish & chip sur la carte, mais les burgers sont aussi vraiment bon.

This is a great little pub serving up great traditional food from quite an extensive menu. The warm traditional décor, set with plenty of seating is the perfect setting for enjoying one of their draught beers. If you are peckish, the burgers are delectable. They cost between £7.25 and £8.50, but once you bite into that meaty goodness, especially if you follow up with a fat cut chip dunked in the heavenly BBQ sauce, you may be hard pushed to stop yourself ordering another plate. There are screens for sport, quiz and fruit machines, and the mixed crowd of blue and white collar workers makes for a surprisingly relaxed and happy crowd.

Around the corner from the office, this pub is OK. It’s got a decent linch, if expensive pints, and is mostly fast if you arrive earle enough. We’ve been to better around the office but also much worse. This is a busy place as it is a decent pub for the area.

Typical pub really: fruit machines, faux-olde décor, standard fish-and-chips. They have some nice ales on, though, including at least one Adnam’s and Deuchar’s IPA. There are several tables on the pavement which make for excellent people-watching on a sunny day, though. This area of Goodge Street/Fitzrovia/Noho has a growing bustle to it, easily spotted during a couple of pints here.

Went here last night and it would have got a solid 3 for being one of those classic London pubs and serving a half decent pint of Guinness. However, it loses a star for one of our group having a bag stolen. It’s obviously really common, and especially in that area apparently. As to the pub — well its wooden floors, wooden tables and chairs with a brass and wood bar. With a small TV playing sky sports away in the corner, and a quiz machine, fruity and golf machine dotted about — but in a jammed in the corner type way. It has some wooden tables outside to er enjoy the traffic going by — though useful for the smokers amongst us. I’m told by a colleague who use to work round the areas that it does great sausages on the food front. All in — nothing special, not a destination pub by any stretch but fine if you’re in the area and fancy a pintso long as you don’t put your bag down for more than 10 seconds

I came here the other day on a date. Both the pub and the date were average. It’s not a bad place to go. Of course, it has the benefit of outside seating which is nice, but a few of the tables are very close to the road which can get a little hairy as a black cab hurtles past. But, the staff are fun and the locals are actually really pleasant. We had some great drunken chats with a few. I’m just not sure the pub deserves anything more than a shoulder shrug. Wine was about £4 a glass but nothing to shout about. I can’t imagine I’ll come rushing back here.
