Good ale, great classic(read not a bunch of needless added accoutrements) burger(don’t know what the other«Americans» who gave reviews are talking about) and a superb pub!

Had my first fish and chips here on my way to Harrod’s(wish I had waited to eat all the delicious stuff there, but I didn’t know!). This a the only pub on skiable and I wasn’t disappointed by my fish and chips. Big fish, crispy chips and a cool lounge area upstairs with large leather sofas. And nobody asked me any American questions, and left me to read. Now I sound like an old codger. Sigh.

Our visit on a quiet Sunday evening was marred by the fact that they didn’t allow kids, but were prepared to let our four year old in «just this once». Once they had served us, another member of staff told us that kids weren’t allowed, even though our son was sitting with us and was no bother at all. They had three real ales on tap, of which two ran out in front of our very eyes. This and the unfriendly welcome means we won’t be returning.

I didn’t like the quality of the food(burger specifically) at all, but the pub environment is OK. It’s somewhat pricy, but hey, it’s at probably THE most expensive street of London!

The food was on par for a pub. As an American, the burger was horrible, skip it at all costs. The other food was traditional pub grub, but the traditional English food was very good; meat pies, fish & chips, etc. The pub had a wide selection of beers. But the best was the bartender ‘Tom’. He had a great personality the kind you want to hang out with and share a brew or 3 with. Tom was informative on all the beers they had and he was willing to answer my endless questions. He was so helpful he even printed out some information on one of the beers I liked. We were only in town a short while but it was Tom that made us visit here a 2nd time.

A Taylor Walker pub that stocked some very common beers unfortunately(Pride + Old Speckled Hen for example). I felt this was a bit boringand a wasted opportunity as I doubt they are tied to this beer choice, because they were all from different brewers. Youngs London Gold was the most interesting option and it did make for a nice pint. Funny precise pricing structure.

The people are nice, the ale is as usuall and the meals are quite well. I prefer the Hunter’s chicken but Fish and Chips are also very well.

It’s advertised as the only pub on Sloane St, which naturally makes it at the very least 3 stars. I have never had to walk more than 100yds to get to a pub in London until I walked down Sloane St. Lesson learned. Standard otherwise. We popped in for a quick pint before reservations and they did indeed serve beer. Thumbs up.

a traditional english tavern in the middle of knightsbridge glitz. a trusty go-to for classic fish & chips and salads. also tasty burgers, meat pies and real ales, including Green King’s IPA& Prides. so glad the Gloucester hasn’t been gutted and turned into A. N. Other bar.
