I’ve never try the hotel part but the bar is nice. As the title says it is just a long room, but there is a charm in this place. Good place for a pint and quick snack, the staff is friendly and polite.

This is a strange pub. Under the Mitre Hotel, it is just a long room. Nothing too special here, but seems to be on the up. Slowly becoming more popular and nice to sit outside on a warm day. Worth popping in for a pint though.

Great, spacious, friendly pub with great food and regular live music. Also screens sports and has a garden. Really good breakfasts too. It is also a hotel.

I used to be too scared to go to this pub; once seeing the entrance was blocked by a scary looking man selling Christmas trees next to an oil drum brazier. Since those dark days it has been totally redone and it’s now called The Long Room. The pool tables are gone and the décor is now all fresh looking and the place in general feels like it’s designed for the ‘new blood’ in Tooting. High tables and stools with an area around the side that can be hired for a party or get together. Some good beer(though it’s one those annoying places there they don’t use branded labels and instead engrave the name on silver metal which can be really hard to read), and generally a nice relaxed atmosphere. Generally pretty quite, though I’m sure when people finally notice that it’s not longer The Mitre, people will give it a go; something which I would recommend.

What can you say, they have really tried hard here. Building is great from the outside(ancient coach house and hotel on Mitcham Lane). Inside they have obv spent money doing the place up. Unfortunately it all falls a bit flat. Dont get me wrong it’s one of the better places for a drink in Tooting but the atmosphere is as dead as the glassy eyes of the bar staff. Basically if you want a quiet drink in pleasant-ish surroundings this is fine… and you’ll always get a seat. If Tooting wasnt so bereft of decent bars i would give it a 2 but compared to the competition this actually makes my top five of Tooting Broadway. Go here to catch up with a friend, dont plan a night night out here.
