Interesting place. This place was recommended to me the old fashioned way.. . Word of mouth as a good place to grab a quick dinner. I was off to see The Twits(as adults) at The Royal Court and just wanted a quick bite pre show. The stockpot is a brisk 15 mins walk from the theatre and Sloan square station so not ideal for a super speedy bite but reasonable distance. There’s a lot going on at Stockpot. Thier menu is massive and eclectic. From all day full English to prawn cocktails to steak it certainly gives you choice. But for a quick bite after work it’s kind of ideal. I ordered the mixed seafood linguine, the Mrs Veggie fajitas(that come with chips and salad???) And the sis a spinach omelette and chips. Safe to say when the food all arrived at the table, it did so quickly and was an interesting combination of smells. The food was generously portioned, tasty and fresh, but not mindblowing. Everything arrived in a suitable plate/bowl with correct cutlery and were given a wide choice of condiments on the table — far far from a fake tomato with ketchup and brown sauce. The women that worked there were energetic and wonderful. Very efficient and super polite giving a simple, unforced good service I’ve not had for a while. While the interior is very simple, café layout and the menu does include chips with pretty much everything its a great place for picky groups and a cheaper alternative to the expensive area it lives in.

My fav hangout. This place has been around since my teens and im 40 now. I always go back, the food, prices and service has always been on point. Its not posh but probably the best part of normally snobby kings road.

Because of the name I thought this place would only serve soups and stews, but I had a wonderfully filling and tasty veggie fajita for lunch. It came with salad and chips but I didn’t have any room for them after the fajita. Better guac than I expected for a London café. If you’re in the area for lunch, not a bad option.

Well, I was mostly disappointed by this spot. I had the need to try someplace new and interesting. However, The Stockpot managed to let me down. There wasn’t a particular thing that made my experience bad, it was just ‘meh’ as Unilocal suggest as a relevant reaction to the 2-star rating. Food was average but a bit overpriced while service was way below par. I don’t think that I’ll be going back in the near future.

This is The Kings Road!!! Very average baked potato and tuna! The minestrone soup was nice and tasted home cooked but the 2 courses for £7.50 was a bit of. Scam because there were only two, incredibly bog standard options. That you only see once you’ve sat down inside.

For all the poncy establishments that surround it, this place can teach them a thing or two. It doesn’t try too hard & serves not bad food at very reasonable prices. Kings Road restaurateurs take note, The Stockpot has stayed in business while many many others gave come and gone. I wonder why?

Go here if you want to fill up for a fiver and not fill sick afterwards. Don’t go if you want first-class cuisine and top-notch service. Good for anyone on a budget, eclectic mix of customers, great for single diners: Stockpot is doing«quick & dirty» in a good way. Stop by on a cold and wet evening, to warm up and read your paper. Have a bite with friends before going to the cinema next door. And if you like your waitresses sporting colourful swaeters — pink/yellow/turquoise, there’s constant change -, you’ll particurlarly like this simple restaurant on the King’s Road … For all Spaghetti Bolognese fans: They’re better at the Soho Stockpot branch.

The Stockpot really surprised me. While we we walking down Kings Road yesterday in Chelsea, we noticed a buzzing of people outside this restaurant. After noticing all the Timeout London stickers from the past 6 years in a row, figured it was as good a place as any to top in and have a spot of lunch. We were quickly seated and served our drinks, the place is quite efficient in getting people in, serving them great food, and getting them out — all in a timely fashion nonetheless. After my two glasses of fantastically cold orange juice, my companion and I were ready to order. She chose the avocado and prawn salad(to which she quite enjoyed and even said there was a little spicy kick to it) while I kept it simple and got the fried egg & bacon sandwich on a baguette. They were both impressive dishes, and we assisted by our server insisting on fresh ground pepper — a feat in which we both obliged. All in all, an overall enjoyable experience on a Sunday walkabout in southwest London.

Cheap, cheerful, attentive quick service are all words that sprang to mind when eating lunch at this little restaurant on the Kings Road. However words like; high quality, fine food and outstanding do not spring to mind! It is not pretentious in the least, it is very handy for a quick but perfectly decent lunch at a really good price. The restaurant was busy but not crowded — I have been warned that service can be overwhelmed by a large party descending on them but I found no evidence of that on an ordinary lunchtime. I had a 2 course set menu and was full afterwards, all for £6 or so. The Avocado was slightly under-ripe in my starter but the main had perfectly cooked pasta in a quite reasonable sauce. I’d definitely go again but as the staff all seem to Italian I expect that their strength lies in their pasta.

I’ve probably ate at the Stockpot over 25 times. Then again, I used to live directly above it and the owner, Angelo, was my landlord. So I’m pretty biased. But here’s the unbiased scoop — if you want high quality, freshly-prepared, simple food, such as minestrone soup, pasta with a nice ragu, a fajita wrap, this is the place. The food comes quickly, the service is excellent and prices are more than reasonable. You can certainly be full for under £10. I personally would recommend the chicken milanese with spaghetti if they have it(it’s a special) and the fajita wrap. And if you’re nice, Angelo will sit down and have a glass of wine with you, on the house.

I had to go here myself because my wife didn’t want to come with me. It looks like a fairly typical diner so I couldn’t hold it against her. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by The Stockpot and am glad to give it four stars. No, you won’t find gourmet food here and it’s definitely not a place to go with your significant other for a special occasion, but for those times when you’re hungry, don’t feel like trying anything adventurous, and don’t want to spend a lot of money, The Stockpot is the perfect place. They have a number of specials every day. I ordered one of the pasta specials — linguine with mussels, calamari, tomatoes in white wine sauce. The portion size was massive for London standards. It wasn’t anything to write home about but it was satisfying. I also ordered some olives and salad. I was happy that they gave me a good amount of olives — I hate going to those restaurants where their order of olives consists of 4 olives. The service is so fast here. They took my order very quickly, I got my food just 5 – 10 minutes after I ordered, and I was probably out the door within 30 minutes total. It’s interesting that another reviewer said the menu was«mostly English». They have a large selection of pasta dishes which made me think it was sorta Italian but they also have fajitas. I guess you can’t easily categorize it.

If you’d rather spend your beans on a pair of shoes than on lunch, the Stockpot is an ideal place to ponder which pair of shoes to buy. Located on Chelsea’s King’s Road, I like this place and most importantly in the current economic climate, it’s as cheap as chips. Where else can you get a starter of pâté with toast for a mere £2.90? And it’s not bad pâté, not in the least. Then there’s Avocado Vinaigrette for £2.75, Fish and Chips for £5.95 and a Full English from the All Day Breakfast menu for £4.95. In Chelsea, that’s possibly the cheapest lunch you’ll find without setting foot in McDonald’s. At prices like these, you can’t expect to be bowled over with the latest in gastronomic trends. The family-run Stockpot chain has been around for decades and the menu seems slightly stuck in a 1960s time warp, but if it’s honest fare at lowest possible cost that you’d like when eating out, you can’t go wrong with the Stockpot.

I’ve been here a couple of times. The food is cheap, the service is quite abrupt, but somehow still friendly(just!), but the food is good simple gnosh. Nothing haute cuisine, but it doesn’t try to be. If you just want to be fed, this will do you just fine.

Fairly poor. Had the worst mixed grill ever produced by a human. Had some decent pasta dishes. The Stockpot really does fit the phrase ‘you get what you pay for’. Cheap prices, cheap food but worth a try.

The Stockpot, like any restaurant that refers to ingredients and/or saucepans in it’s name, is a decent, homely type of local kitchen. The menu is mostly English and the dishes are usually heaving and pretty much the same each time — good value too. I know a few people who complain that the staff can be quite rude but I’ve not had this experience personally and until I do I will go back if I’m close by. It’s especially good pre or post cinema(it’s just down the road) and it’s just the sort of environment where you can discuss a film properly — no distractions and over plenty of cheap wine.

I’ll just start by saying that this is nothing like the Stockpot in Soho, which personally I think is a dive Whilst the fare here is very basic, the staff are very friendly and the food is quite adequate and comes in decent man-sized portions. It’s almost opposite the local pictures too, so we squeezed in a quick meal here before a movie. Cheap too given the rather posh surroundings ;)
