A great pub for drinks, but go elsewhere for the food. The service is excellent. The garden is lovely and the bar warm and cozy. I have tried the food at the Swan a few times over the past year, and I feel that it is massively overrated. The food is always very bland. I have ordered the Sunday roast three times always with poor results. There are so many good places to eat nearby that there is no excuse to suffer through a boring meal at the Swan.

I went there for a Sunday lunch on advice from a local of Chiswick area. Inside, it looks like a regular pub. In summer, you must go in the back of the pub where you can drink outside surrounded with trees and candles, it looks very nice. As for food, the menu seems to change every day, which is a good thing, means that products are fresh and seasonable. I went for the chicken Sunday roast and it was divine! Roasted vegetables, delicious mashed potatoes, garlic sauce and finally: juicy meat. So I hardly recommend this place to eat, and not only to get some drinks. The area is kinda calm as well which prevents to have big groups coming in.

I am a very big fan of The Swan. This is a traditional pub in my eyes… The swan is about 2 mins away from my girlfriends house so we think of The Swan as an extended kitchen as we do dine here a lot during the week and the weekend. :) The pub is not massive, it has a very homely vibe to it and you get to know the locals here quite easy. It is great for us as we like taking our dogs to the pub and The Swan is a «Dog Friendly» pub. The pub also has a wonderful garden. It almost seems you are in someone else’s garden rather than a pub. There are great wooden tables and a great lawn which you will find yourself sitting on in the summer. The Swan is a hidden gem…

Have been here a few times post work with colleagues. I have only eaten here once, but that time the food was delicious. Now to the important bit, the drinking. Staff here are pleasant and quick. They seem to love being there and it shows in customer service. It’s quite cosy, especially on a winters day and you snag a table in the back room near the fire. Several real ales on tap, along with lagers and quite a big wine selection for a small pub! If you’re in Chiswick and looking for nice locally pub, make your way to this place. A nice change to all the chains that seem to litter Chiswick high street.

a truly lovely gastropub. The best thing is that they don’t make a big fuss about it. They spend their energy on making great food instead!

My local. Very friendly staff, a good wine list, good beers on tap and an Italian /mediterranean-inspired menu. Inside it’s cosy(the Dutch would say gezellig) and there’s a nice garden for sunny evenings. Recommended.

This is the sort of place I think of when I hear the word ‘gastropub’. The food is truly excellent and the atmosphere is great. I used to live round the corner too and sorely miss it now. However, it gets very very busy so if you’re planning a meal then you probably have to book in advance or get there early. There are a couple of alternatives very close by(including the Stag) so if they’re full, all is not lost. Great for families but taking kids is not compulsory.

There is much to recommend about The Swan. A favourite of the local workers, this pub/bar hybrid has a lot of atmosphere, as well as a satisfying array of beers and wines. With an interesting menu on top, it manages to tread the gastropub line as a trendsetter rather than one of the crowd. With a myriad of lesser options nearby, it is good to see a pub kitchen that can live up to the promise of the ingredients listed on the menu for once. Although like every gastropub, it is still a little on the pricey side, but there are plates that are very reasonable value. My only problem with this pub is the acoustics prohibit all but nodding and smiling when it is standing room only. Attempting to bawl over the chirpy cacophony of half-cut Chiswickians is a chore in itself, but I suppose this is just nitpicking. On an optimistic note, this gives some idea of the place’s popularity and atmosphere. A bit of the beaten track, it’s worth the walk for a lively and friendly crowd that in summer spills into a beer garden and adjacent stable for bbqs and summer drinking.

This place is a great little pub with delicious food and a lovely outside seating area. It’s a little expensive but then Chiswick always is

A wonderful little oldie worldy pub located some distance from the hustle and bustle of the Chiswick High Road, This pub serves the local residents and those that have found it over the years, love it and keep coming back. It has a nice garden out the back and welcomes families with children during sensible hours, by that I mean not a 9 o’clock at night. A varied a good menu that changes regularly ensures that people return year after year for a good Sunday lunch type of a meal in the various nooks and crannies that this pub provides. Real ales are kept well and a good wines list means that I normally stay longer than I should but hey — it if works then enjoy it. Low ceilings, good beer, good food and a great garden for the summer means that this pub will attract a good clientele and it is somewhere you could take your mum and the family for a good slap up dinner. See the website for current menu’s and it is good to book in advance.

This is a great place. I remember when it was just a quiet little boozer, but now it seems to be busy all the time. The food was OK, the king of gastro-pub fare that has become all too common recently, but what makes this place different is the staff. They really do seem to care that you enjoy your visit and for that, the Swan gets 4 stars

The Swan is a charming little Gastropub tucked out of the way near Acton Green. I popped in one Autumnal evening and enjoyed a lovely large glass of wine next to the open fire. This is definitely a locals pub, and I have to say that I felt a little intimidated, like I’d turned up in the grocery shop in Roysten Vassey in League of Gentleman(Are youLocal?) The food menu looked devine, but was a bit out of our price range so we settled on dining at the Duke around the corner instead. Don’t get me wrong it was a fantastic little pub but I didn’t feel like I was welcome as the face didn’t fit the picture.

The Swan is a well run pub with an excellent and varied menu. The pub comes into itself in the summer with the big beergarden & the inevitable happy dogs having a drink with their owners. I think the person above has confused The Swan with The Stag which is just around the corner as The Swan definitely doesn’t have any big screens for sports. A great place to spend a lazy Saturday or Sunday playing board games in the evening, or sitting by the fireplace in the big comfy sofas in the winter.

This is a great gastropub with a really enticing beer garden! The décor is fairly basic but the food is really amazing, particularly the sunday roasts! I have NEVER seen beef like that before, you get half a cow, and it is cooked to perfection!!! The food is quite expensive but really worth it, and the staff are really friendly. I would also recommend it if you have children. We took my one year old son there for lunch and the staff were really helpful and more than happy to bring food suitable for him.

I LOVETHISPLACE. in summer this place is absolutely fantastic where you can drink hoegaarden in what seems to be huge glasses(actually just pints but man they look huge) in a beergarden the size of chiswick and in winter it still manages to impress you with what could possibly be the best food EVER. everything i’ve eaten in this place is amazing, quite pricey(mains from £12ish) but you’re better off eating here and spending a bit more than paying £3.99 for a «burger&beer«–deal where the burger’s been sitting on the bar desk for the past 4 days. highly recommended place!

Nice local pub with great food, not much bar space more a gastro pub now, really good in the summer with a cool buzz of locals on their way home from work. Wide choice of wine if thats your thing too. Best of all is the bangers and mash which comes with a onion jelly to die for!! Worth leaving the high rd for!

The Swan in Chiswick has the best pub food i have had it is a small pub, cosy in winter inside nice wooden tables and the décor is old english charm, with some tables out front and a fantastic beer garden in summer Sunday afternoons can easily be lost sitting in the sun in the beer garden followed by a dinner. Meals are £12 up but worth every penny.

Recent addition to the gastropub scene — a down-to-earth local that’s been only mildly made over to attract a more profitable clientele. Basically the entire pub has become a gastropub, so you get an intriguing mix of die-hard locals enjoying a pint and food lovers tucking into their meals. It also has a big screen & screens football matches. Now that IS interesting! Anyway as you can tell its fairly unpretentious and the good news is the food is excellent too. Definitely worth a visit, although there’s not much nearby to move on to.
