Stumbled across the Appleton Rum Bus on a recent night out in Manchester. The Rum Bus is parked outside the Great Northern Warehouse and they do a small selection of rum based cocktails. I tried the rum punch and the mai tai both were very good and were quite strong so was worth the £7 I paid for each of them. The bus is a vintage one and there is seating inside as well as a few tables and chairs outside. It was a very warm night so they could have done with some more outside seating especially when a large group of about 15 arrived. However the Rum Bus is a novel idea and definitely worth a visit if you’re passing by.

Appleton Estate rums have parked up a pretty vintage bus in Great Northern Square and welcome you to try their summer drinks for the next 4 weeks. There are lots of tables and chairs to sit at or, indeed, get on the bus and drink there! The cocktails are all fairly sweet and I couldn’t taste much lychee in my orange and lychee mojito but the rum and raisin dream my friend had was delicious. I’ll be going back for some of these! A good stop on your way for grub at Almost Famous, Revolucion De Cuba or Lucha Libre — especially if the sun is shining!
