Ahh, Clark’s shoes. Going in this shop to try and find some new shoes for work really made me think back to late August Saturday’s and being taken with my mum to Clark’s to get new shoes for the start of a new school year. I don’t think I’ve been to Clark’s since those days, but I thought I’d pop in and see what kind of shoes they have nowadays. All the shoes in Clark’s are really well made. Just like the days when school shoes from Clark’s would last all year, these shoes will last you a good year or several more without breaking. Clark’s shoes are always well made. Unfortunately, the styles going on here are still for folk a bit older than me, but I know my date of destiny with Clark’s will come again. Just not quite yet.

This store has the usual range of Clarks shoes for men, women & children. It’s quite a large store so there’s lots of space to walk around & easy access if you have a wheelchair or pram. The children’s section, located at the back of the store, offers a free measuring service but during busy times you can have a very long wait. They have a good range of children’s clothes & they have some excellent sales. As well as shoes they sell accessories such as ladies handbags & shoe inserts, protector etc. The staff are friendly & always give good advice. Can be expensive & I tend to buy in the Sales but the shoes are very good quality.

I must admit I’m not a big shoe aficionado — I don’t own very many and only buy a pair when I need a pair! So I’m probably not the best person to talk about shoe shops; but here goes From my perspective, this is a fairly decent shoe shop in the middle of the Trafford Centre(just about opposite Selfridges): we’ve used it quite a few times and are satisfied customers. They have a good range of shoes on offer for both men and women. It can take the assistants a while on occasion to locate the left shoe(right shoes are displayed; left shoes are kept in storage) which is a bit of a problem. Prices are reasonable, especially at sale times. There’s a separate kids’ area at the back and(I think) specialist staff available to help fit shoes for them. All in all, not a bad shoe shop for those of us who don’t take shoes too seriously
