HMV like the one in The Trafford Centre is packed with great CD’s. Whatever it is that you’re looking for, old, grey and white old, or brand new. It has it all and caters to every music taste. They obviously do some really great posters to go which deals like 3 for £10 which not only is cheap but also amazing for your room! What draws me to HMV most of the times? It would be the bulk prices and good deals that they pitch in togther. They also have good selections of ear phones, speakers and t-shirts.

When you think of HMV you might think of rows of over-priced chart CDs and DVDs. This particular branch however, has a surprisingly good section of indie CDs and world cinema movies. There’s lots of new releases and all the big directors from Jean Luc Godard and Jacques Tati to Pedro Almodovar, Giuseppe Tornatore, Federico Fellini and Wim Wenders. Prices are more expensive than you’d find online but they always have a few titles on special offer. Right now, you can get Pawel Pawlikoswi’s bittersweet Last Resort and French thrillers Hidden and The Beat That My Heart Skipped for a bargain £5.99. If you haven’t already seen them, you can also get Krzystof Kieslowski’s incredible Three Colours trilogy. I’m a fan of all three films but if I had to recommend one, Juliette Binoche gives a hypnotic and life-affirming performance as a grief struck widow in the powerful Three Colours Blue.
