I was worried the staff would be unhelpful like the Edinburgh store we went into. But I was completely wrong. The staff were knowledgable and we had a good conversation about the history and concepts of some of the bags on display.

When Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole first started shopping at Louis Vuitton, the marketing department were probably rubbing their hands with glee. Rather than having to spend thousands advertising their luxury brand in style magazines, they were guaranteed lots of free media exposure and an increase in sales. Now that Posh lives in L.A. and Cheryl has access to every designer sample she wants, Louis Vuitton seems to have slipped off the radar. The shop always looks deserted and when I popped in over the weekend, I was the only customer. Maybe it was a quiet spell or maybe most fashion victims are just as happy to buy a fake Louis Vuitton for a fraction of of the price online? Who knows. Personally, I’d never dream of splashing five to a thousand pounds on a clutch bag or overnight case but I love the decadence of their Christmas window display.
