MTwenty

M Twenty gets busy, busy, busy on a Friday and Saturday night and I’ve actually been known to have to queue to get in, which I’m not sure is entirely worth it, but it’s a great little bar for cocktails.
There’s a good DJ who plays crowd pleasers and if you’re out with a mixed bag of friends here is a safe bet: think Frank Valli ‘Beggin’ etc. It’s only a small place and does get really busy, which can be annoying when you have to wait 20 minutes at the bar for that oh so great cocktail. The list is extensive and most are £6, not bad for the amount of effort that seems to have gone into their menu. They’ve even got a page of ‘Dessert in a Glass’ with a marshmallow pie cocktail offered, so 10 points for novelty, but 0 points for boy drinkability. Luckily though, they do have a few good bottled beer on offer too.
Worth a visit, before say going onto to a club, but definitely not worth a queue to join the rest of the punters waiting to be served.

Black mosiacs look cool.
Purple lighting looks cool.
Expensive cocktails look a bit daft but if you go all out 1980’s are kinda cool.
Getting to 27, going to a cocktail bar away from town and realising that you go right back to being the youngest person there like when you were 17 and getting knocked back from Yates’s is also kinda cool.
All things considered. Cool.

I like MTwenty. I was not bowled over but it was a decent bar in a decent area with pretty decent people.
The décor was fantastic and it really felt like someones heart and soul had gone into creating something slightly different to the other bars you find in Didsbury.
A word of warning however: This place absolutely ram packed at the weekend and you will feel like a squished sardine. The only way to avoid this is to make your visit a midweek affair. Another bar that has become a victim of its own success unfortunately.
