There is a reason I will never complain about having to pay £2.50+ for a birthday card and that reason is The Card Factory in The Arndale Centre.

Card Factory is a properly saviour for those of us out there with too many people in their lives who insist on having birthdays and children and anniversaries and weddings and such. It’s sooooooooooooo bloody expensive. Never mind the ruddy gift, you take your bad self off to Clintons for a card, some wrap and a bag, and you’ve hit the tenner mark there already. You do that for an average of 50 friends and family and that’s £500 a year on cards and wrapping! That’s insane! Ok best advice, be tongue in cheek and do it on a budget by bobbing down to Card Factory. Spice the whole thing up with a cuddly toy and a novelty balloon if you have too, but why oh why is there any need to spend £5 on a birthday card and that again on a gift bag when they have an expiration date of three days max and you can get them at a fraction of the cost at the CF. Special occasions, yeah granted, they’re not brilliant on the quality, for that, but you can make exceptions elsewhere for that. Very funny occasion where i sent one young man batty over balloons… he actually lost the balloon in the back room… luckily he found it again, but he was gone for about ten minutes… not the sharpest… all turned out well in the end.

Think birthday’s or hen parties or any occasion where you want to decorate to celebrate, then think Card factory. Card Factory is easily way better than Clinton’s and is cheaper as well. It stores a wide array of cards(of course), little bears, cute stuff toys, and many other trinkets you’d like in your party. Now coming to the specific things you shouldn’t miss: The mug selection– they make great gifts and are funny as hell with the very innovative one liners on it, and it crafted for everyone you might be related to, hence it’s personalised! Then, the naughty card section– they have in store some of the really silly and funny cards for the naughty minds who take pleasure in twisted jokes! I thought their collection was rather unique; you have to go there to know what it is! They also have very pretty and wacky wrapping paper which attracted me to no ends. Near the tills, they are many small gifts like pretty locked pocket notebooks, named pens, little boxes and small things that instantly draw you to it when you see it, and the good thing about these is, it doesn’t rip you off in the end since they’re priced at just a pound or two! So it’s a win-win! Card Factory, is truly a fun place to even just have a look!
