I’ve only ever been to the Spoon Inn so far for tea, but all sources suggest that it is also great for food and in the evenings as a drinking spot. I love it for their extensive loose leaf tea menu which is likely to impress any tea fanatic! Several green teas on offer and over a dozen herbals. Last time I had a citrusy green mate blend. The enclosed backyard is a great sun trap on nice days, a nice retreat from the hectic main road. The people that work there are extremely friendly and helpful, which really makes me return time and again.

A cute charming bijou bar-ette like so many in Chorlton, a nice gentle atmosphere serving good beers and lagers as well as a variety of teas and coffees. Lovely outside rear terrace garden as well as a front terrace. Great for summer with friends. They have a really appetising bar menu of Mediterranean mezze and tapas style dishes and home made lamb and beef burgers with imaginative side dishes including fried potatoes and polish sausage though eating here will be on my next visit.

What could be better than a café that does a very decent coffee, a great selection of teas and serves some cask ales as well? It ticks all the boxes and does so in a very casual modern atmosphere. I’ve been to The Spoon Inn several times now and I’ve always had a pleasant time. My wife is very happy with their tea selection, they make a good drop of coffee and the vietnamese coffee is bloody lovely and the only place I’ve found it in Manchester. If you’ve found any others that do this let me know. Most of the food on offer is a variation of a sandwich making the most out of their four hot panini presses /grills. We ordered veggie breakfasts with everything, it arrived steaming hot on panini bread piled high with mushrooms, halloumi and seasonal veg(courgette, peppers etc.) with a lovely runny egg on top. They even had worcestershire sauce when I asked which is something that can’t be said about most cafes and breakfast spots, most only have brown or tomato sauce. The staff are all pleasant and welcoming. There are papers for the customers and free wi-fi. Could you even ask for more from a spot to while away a lazy weekend? Perhaps a beer or wine if you end up hanging around for a few hours? They have you covered here with a range of wines, keg beers and even rotating selection of 3 cask ales, hallelujah! I’ve never been disappointed by their guest beers and they have always had them on unlike a few places in Chorlton who regularly having nothing running on their cask taps. A very good café come bar come night spot which would definitely be a local haunt of mine if I lived in Chorlton.

I came here with my boyfriend around 7pm and there was only one service behind the bar. She was very nervous and there were only two customers in front of us and she behaved as if there was a long queue. Unfortunately she made me nervous too with her hectic gestures/stressed mood and missing out on important details(such as a spoon for my coffee). I wished she was a bit calmer and apologised for serving us all by herself since I know how it is working under pressure alone! However I do love this coffee shop and would come again but I recommend that the staff needs to chillax –or need more staff after 7 pm :)

When is an Amsterdam coffee shop not an Amsterdam coffee shop? Well I guess when it’s in the UK and doesn’t sell weed — but everything about this place was right on the money in terms of vibe, layout, music and chilled out staff. A really arty place with full on dub reggae blasting out, a minimalist finish and loads of seating in the main café and 2 beer gardens — it was a great place to work for a few hours, enjoy their great coffee and think about going back next time. There’s a tempting food menu and their beer selection is fantastic — it really does seem like a place for every occasion. I’ll check it out again super soon

I’d been out having dinner somewhere in Chorlton alfresco dining. The sun was setting and we were a bit chilly and needed somewhere to warm up. The place is split into three, a cosy nook which could pass as someone’s living room at the back, a modern, white café look in the main part and alfresco dining. The café was lovely and warm and it has a very extensive tea menu but I already had in mind that I wanted a hot chocolate with whipped cream. We chatted amongst ourselves for a while as the member of staff was busy under the counter, clattering away at whatever she was doing. When she emerged she was very friendly and suggested malteasers on top of my hot chocolate. OMG, this is the best hot chocolate I have tasted in a while! It was a bit quiet as everyone was watching the FIFA world cup final which is where I should have been. Other patrons were asking if we were escaping the football as they left, I secretly wanted to be home watching it and luckily I got to as it went into extra time. Friendly relaxing place(if you manage to sit on a bench with a cushion :)) I would definitely visit again.

What an excellent addition to Chorlton. The Spoon Inn is a really relaxed and chilled out café on Barlow Moor Road. The waiting staff were extremely friendly and we felt right at home straight away. The menu is small but includes some hearty dishes. We both had burgers which were excellent. They were covered in ample toppings such as cheese, gherkins, mustard mayo and salad. After our tasty food we ordered some cocktails. The dark side of the spoon cocktail comes highly recommended. It was a bit like an alcoholic coke float. We will definitely return to the Spoon Inn.

This place gets five for managing to balance incredible food with a beer garden and a coffee shop without being awful. The food is pretty stand out and they have a seasonal sausage stew named after a bus accident. Boom.

I had visited The Spoon Inn while house-hunting before my move to Manchester, and had fond memories of bagels, Czech beer, an extensive range of loose tea, and friendly staff who welcomed me to the city. Since then it fell mostly off my radar — there was always somewhere newer, with better reviews, closer to me, etc. When I spotted an online voucher deal for two burgers & two beers for £10, and so happened to have a Friday off work, I knew it was too good a coincidence to pass this up. So off I went. I turned up at around 2pm on a sunny Friday to find The Spoon Inn busy but not packed, with all kinds of locals young and old. The staff were immediately cheery, happily taking my voucher code from me and giving me the option to sit out the front, inside or out the back. We took two menus, two delicious pints of Kozel, and headed out back. Amazingly, the deal included anything from the regular menu. My companion went for the advertised burger and I chose a Polish sausage hotdog. Both were delicious, great quality meat with nice toppings, and with a salad and a handful of tortilla chips on the side, a nice light lunch rather than a belly-busting challenge of a meal. One of the things I like most about The Spoon Inn is that it seems as though everything they do, they do well. Definitely somewhere I’ll head back to, even without a voucher.

Thanks to Alison K and Shelia C’s helpful reviews I spent a very pleasant of couple of hours in here on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a pretty place which avoids the we-just-painted-this-and-turned-it-into-a-bar-overnight aesthetic of several other bars in Chorlton. The staff are friendly and the menu is both appealing and good value(I had a great view of halloumi and peppers being grilled, which was enjoyable to watch). My friend had some very fancy tea which came in a glass pot with a strainer etc. My hot chocolate came with crumbled maltesers which was obviously a plus although I wish it had been less milky and more like my favourite Spanish/Italian style thick hot chocolate. It was however made with real chocolate, as far as I could make out from whatever the delicious sediment was at the bottom. The cocktails sounded great and were reasonably priced so I would definitely come back to try them. All in all a very nice vibe and worth the trip.

Mooch down to the Spoon Inn on a Saturday night and enjoy a glass of good wine, a beer or even a cocktail to a soundtrack of laid back grooves surrounded by intriguingly cool looking grown ups. I love it here. Top local spot for those nights when you do wanna go out, but you don’t wanna go out-out. Also fab in the daytime. Check out the cherry sencha tea.

My new favourite place in Chorlton! Even though it has been here at while now. I’ve been in a handful of times and have always enjoyed it. The staff are super lovely, bubbly and helpful. Great choice of drinks, small but perfectly formed food menu, I really like the décor and they put on some good events. Today I only popped in for a coffee and ended up staying for 3 hours! It’s the kind of place where you can do that and feel comfortable doing it even if you’re by yourself. Coffee is great. I had a flat white(lovely) and a fancier Vietnamese coffee(special!) and yes I had a serious case of the coffee shakes. I also tried out their Polish sausage stew. Hearty, tasty stuff! You get a healthy amount for £6 too. A good place to come if you want to do some work on your laptop or catch up with a friend. Also a nice place to come for a chilled out drink in the evening. Definitely recommended!

Very small menu, but incredible bagels, coffee, etc. Staff are very friendly. They have beers on tap too.
