Due to being in a manic rush and stupidly food-deprived, I went against the reviews of my fellow Unilocalers and decided to give Wrap it up a whirl! 3 stars is probably as high as I can go due to its competition offering that little bit more however I was pleasantly surprised at how full and satisfied my belly was after! I had a Mexican chicken wrap and whilst the rice was maybe a tad bland, the chicken and gauc added some real flavour and I really enjoyed it. Stay were very friendly, attentive and walked me through the process and options as it was my first time in there. A decent quick lunch that hits the spot without reaching the heights of certain other burrito/wrap options in our fair city.

I can’t say that Wrap it Up is worth visiting. It doesn’t have a patch on the rest of the lunch places dotted down Deansgate. I bet Pita Pit is laughing in the face of this wrap joint. The menu isn’t the easiest to understand and I was highly disappointed that once you’d chosen your filling you didn’t then get to pick the salad and sauces you wanted in it — as the name states i picked my filling and it was wrapped up, that was that. I had a chicken tikka wrap, however it didnt particularly taste of much. The staff weren’t exactly happy and friendly either, it seemed like they didn’t have much passion, which to me is slightly worrying for a new comer lunch place in the center of the city. I even let a work colleague use my voucher for a free wrap as I really did not want to return.

I have been to Wrap it Up in London and was excited when one opened here. I ordered the Turkish chicken wrap and asked for no gherkins as I have an allergy(it’s not that I don’t just like them, it’s a genuine one). The lady that took my order did note ‘no gherkins’ on the order but the person who made up the wrap(turns out it was the manager) didn’t take notice and crammed the wrap full of them, which I discovered back at my desk. I went back to the store as I wanted my money back, not that I have much time to do this but food establishments need to take care when it comes to people’s allergies. If the manager does this I don’t have much faith in the rest of the staff… I won’t be returning. Think twice before going

I went to Wrap It Up again today after I got a voucher for a free wrap. It turns out that even though the service in the shop isn’t that good, there online support is good.(I sent them a tweet just to mention an error on their web site). Anyway, back to my visit today. Like last time, when you enter it smells lovely with the spices. I decided to go for the Caribbean Roti. I don’t think I have had roti before but none of the other wraps really appeals. It turns out I am not that keen on a roti. Apart from the roti, the feeling was OK — chicken was a bit dry. If you read my previous review, I mentioned about the romaine lettuce and it not being like e.g. subway, where they ask you what salads you want. It appears thats just how it is. The menu has the main filling but also says exactly what salad it will have e.g. romaine lettuce, tomato, gherkins & garlic mayo dressing. However, it would have been nice if they asked. E.g. many people don’t like gherkins. The roti I got was put into a polystyrene box — not sure why but guessing its useful when eating the roti? He asked if I wanted it in a bag which I did but the bag was too small for the roti/box so it was at an angle — luckily nothing leaked. Instead of handing the bag to me, saying thank you or enjoy, he just sort of threw the bag towards me on to the counter/tray in front of me and then he turned away. Apart from the woman who took my order, on both visits there has been no communication at all — might as well be served by a robot. I am unlikely to come back again. Most of their options have romaine lettuce which I don’t like. Even if I manage to stop them putting the romaine lettuce in the wrap, I am not sure if there are other«salad leaves» option(unless they were hidden) — so would be a bit«bare».
