Great interior to this pub, featuring a glass dome. This is my favourite pub in Newcastle for watching football. Good large screen and several smaller screens too. Can be busy when Newcastle are at home, but otherwise very pleasant. Good efficient bar staff who cope well when busy. Several real ales to choose from.

A great pub in Newcastle, a «Real Ale pub» as they call themselves! In fact, they’ve just won«Real Ale Pub of the Year 2014» so hey, worth a visit! It’s a bit dim inside, but very cozy and chill. They have these beautiful stained glass ceilings which really elevates the feel of the place. 8 real ale pumps including some guest pumps, but I think they probably change fairly often(and I just had cider so can’t comment, but boyfriend was happy with the selection). They have a very fun trivia night on Thursdays at 8:30 pm, £1 to play and winner takes all. But second-to-last place wins a wooden spoon that has«I came in second-to-last in trivia at the Bogeda Pub!!!» written on it, so I think we all know what the real best prize is — and we WONIT last week(or…lost it? I mean, second-to-last is really rubbish)! Great place to go for a group to just have a relaxing chat, try a new beer, or play the quiz machine.

Architecturally very appealing the amount of floor space can feel a bit much at times but the range of ales available is very good. Service even on a Sunday night was a bit ropey(NB after 7pm the prices come down 15%) and the preferred practice seemed to be to not wash glasses as they go but just do it all at the end of the night. They do though have some very nice branded glasses which I’m sure they lose a bunch of through theft. Good as the final port of call on a crawl.

Has a good selection of real ales(and sometimes ciders). Its a nice old pub, sometimes spoilt by the TV and the customers. But at quiet times away from the TV, its a nice old mans pub.

A Fantastic pub with good beer that even better on match days. A stunning pub with its tiled floors and stained glass domes. A must visit pub. Don’t forget the Bridge Hotel as well.

Great ale selection and lovely interior design. Its one of the those rarer and rarer pubs which havent really changed much for years and its all the better for it. It is my usual pre match pub, and on match days it is rammed. Otherwise its always a good bet for a couple of queit pints amongst friendly folk. Cheapish prices too.

This pub is just a few minutes away from the Carling Academy. A very spacious atmosphere and not many tucked out of the way areas. There are however, a few little booths at one side of the room. Food is served here daily and it’s very tasty. The bar staff are nice to you if you’re nice to them and this pub seems to attract an older crowd. Not many young fresh faces to be seen on a regular basis. Many real ales are on sale here. I do recall buying 2 pints of ‘Orkney Skull Splitter’…but I don’t remember anything after that. The Bodega has an interior which seems to be both wise and wonderful. There are two inverted dome shapes on the ceiling. Overall, a nice relaxed ‘older’ mans pub with average prices and regular people.
