Agree with all the other positive reviews. This is a warm and welcoming restaurant with friendly staff. A relaxed atmosphere and good for all sorts of occasions with friends and family and the conservatory is very comfortable in the cold winter months. As a group of four we chose from both the a la carte and fixed price menus. At £10.95 for 2 courses or £13.95 for 3, the fixed price is excellent value with good choices and no skimping on portion size. Everyone enjoyed their food. My mussels had a lovely and fresh tomato, chilli and coriander sauce served with excellent crusty bread. My burger was very generous and juicy. Looking forward to my next visit!

A great wee place to eat, drink and be merry. There’s a good feel to Fleming’s. the building is old but the menu is contemporary. Dining in the conservatory at the rear gives a good view of this as it was added to the exterior and you can see the old weather worn stone. It adds a certain charm. We dined there on an online voucher but the menu was extensive, the food varied but of good quality. All in all a great wee local bistro. PS — Sad to say Flemings has now ceased to be and has been turned into a new Italian restaurant called Volare. I shall be reviewing soon!!!

Back here(right now, in fact) as I’d been planning a visit to the beer garden on a sunny day, and we finally have one! Popped in for lunch around 12ish, easily got a seat outside. The outdoor area is pretty big — there are 4 tables which could fit 8 people sitting at them, and two tables of two. Service in the beer garden runs just as smoothly as inside in the conservatory area. The same deal is on for lunch times — 2 courses for £9.95, or you can order from the a la carte menu. Today I went for chicken liver parfait, and fish and chips. Both these meals were really tasty, generous portions and super fresh. I can’t fault the food or service here, but my one small gripe is that the menu is a little dull and could be livened up a bit. I’d love to see what the beer garden is like in the evening with our long summer days. I feel really lucky to pop up here within 2 minutes for my place for a bite to eat in the sun at lunch time.

One of those places that we’ve always driven past and said that we should really go to, usually when we are on the way to or from somewhere else! We got there eventually though, and it certainly delivered enough to make us go a lot more regularly. For a start it looks like it would be a decent place to go if you wanted a quiet drink or two. The Mearns isn’t exactly blessed with decent pubs, and so far this looks to be the best of the bunch. Surprisingly bigger than you expect when looking at it from the outside, the décor is flashy without being OTT and there is a good selection of couches, tables and bar stools to sit on. If you ever find yourself with a drouth once you’ve done your shopping in the Avenue this is the place to go! The food was pretty good as well, although it’s never going to win any awards. My crabcakes were nice and tasty, and the burger was on the good side of pub burger standard — you could taste the grill but not enough to make it taste nasty. The restaurant area, basically the conservatory at the back, was nice and light, and would be brilliant on a nice day(if we ever get one). Our waitress(the staff were lovely) also said that they were going to have barbeques on really good days, which could be fun. The food area was a little on the tight side though, and all of the folk there for lunch were squished in pretty close together — I could have sacrificed some of the atmosphere to sit in the bar area to be honest. If you live in the South Side, it’s certainly worth a go, and is a definite alternative if you’ve been worn out by lots of visits to Clark & Sons/the OP.

Great burger, good service, warm & pretty stylish — we saw a deal for this place & took it as we live out that way & had never been. A warm welcome and a good burger, chips & wine followed. We were surprised(don’t know why) and certainly will return
