The Horton Arms is a regular haunt for my Husband and I. The atmosphere is congenial, the décor is pleasant and comfortable and the food is fantastic. It’s your typical pub fayre but with a few twists thrown in … thai curries, lamb tagine, Mediterranean Platter… to name just a few. My fave is the platter which is brimming with variety: olives, sunblushed tomatoes, feta cheese salad, couscous, pâté, antipasti, ciabatta bread and crackers … all washed down with a glass of their shiraz — perfect! Give the Horton a go, you won’t be disappointed

Ahhhh Horton Arms, you wonderful slice of British delight you. I LOVE this pub, LOVE it! It’s everything I could ever want in a local pub: a warm and welcoming team of employees, a cosy atmosphere, great food, and warm — yes, warm! I like to be warm and cosy in a pub! My friends and I head here for an early lunch. Knowing the pub well we were slightly concerned that they wouldn’t be able to fit us in but we were greeted with a smile and sat down with ease! Being typically awkward(and slightly hungover) all 4 of us asked for weird and wonderful orders and the waitress happily took them and helped us with our questions. I opted for scampi and chips, changed my salad for mushy peas and had a side of gravy(I’m northern — I have to get my gravy in where I can). On its arrival I was very excited! The chips, oh the chips — they’re homemade, chunky bites of pure goodness! I saved them till last, obviously, and smothered them in gravy! NOMNOMNOM! The scampi was also lovely. I will say that the mushy peas were slightly cold and not that creamy but hey hoe, the chips more than made up for it! Overall we had a wonderful lunch and I know my family, friends and myself will continue to head here for a long long time!
