My Sainsburys that I visit more than any other I like it here whist I only rate it four stars I feel it let’s its self down They have a few places that need a complete revamp(like the loos for example) They have just redone the café but I don’t think it was an improvement. It seemed better the old way ‚ Anyway the store does have a lot of things to spend your money on I particularly like their range of pots and pans baking stuff ‚ They don’t really give you a lot of offers but you get nectar points on every thing you buy even the petrol Yes there’s the filling station to ‚ There’s the clothes part for all ages I love the wines and spirits department but I guess they would say aisle, there’s more than one and there’s some decent ones on at the moment ‚ The Sainsburys house red is very good all of them as they do various grapes and other fruits ‚ Well I think I’ve covered most of it maybe I should mention the bakery before I forget some yummy cakes in there, lol hope its not to late, :-)

It is always a shame to have to downgrade a business when writing a review, but I do feel based on my experience today and comparing it to other supermarkets in the area, including other branches of Sainsbury’s, I have no choice to give the demotion to a fairer 2 star rating. This branch of Sainsbury’s is quite close to central Oldham, and is easily accessible through a cut through of Millgate/Town Square Shopping Centre, grabbing the lift/escalator to get on «an empty floor» of the arndale. This branch of Sainsbury’s is quite big, but they don’t seem to use the size very well, especially for groceries, as they do have a huge clothing section and a café which isn’t on the small side. This store isn’t the biggest Sainsbury’s store in the area, with the branch at Heaton Park(arguably the better branch) taking that title. They is a few good things about this Sainsbury’s store for example, they do have quite a large non-frozen gluten free range, consisting of most of Sainsbury’s products in that area, but to be honest it is just the«regulars» that are available at most supermarkets, and it isn’t worth making a trip here, just for that. The frozen free from isn’t so good, with only a small selection, mainly consisting of own brand products and Amy’s Kitchen, which I dislike. The range here certainly isn’t as good as the Heaton Park branch or even nearby supermarkets such as Asda(Chadderton) and Tesco(Chadderton and Mumps Bridge), and this store isn’t the nicest either. Special offers were not made clear, they was numerous gluten free items on the reduced shelf, that I would of considered buying, but I was put off as they didn’t have a reduced sticker on, which was confusing and I do think this would loose them buyers, and this is a shame as it is very easy, and non-time consuming to apply a label, if they are taking the time to move them to that shelf, and I have seen this done in in other supermarkets in the past, and the staff seem to breeze through it with ease Products in such categories as Iced Coffee beverages, frozen(free from), meals and just most items in general really are a bit lacking. Overall, this isn’t a store that I would specifically go out of my way to visit, as not only is it not the best«Sainsbury’s» or supermarket in the area, they is a good 2 – 3 stores considerably better than this store on a 2 mile radius from here, and the only reason I would probably recommend visiting in here, is to pick up minor essentials while in Oldham city center, or if you just want to have a look at the clothing range(probably one of the biggest I have seen in a supermarket)

A great, reliable supermarket with a good selection of high quality foods. This is a slightly more expensive store but it is worth it for the quality of the counter products — the curry’s over the counter are very good, and it’s worth looking out for when they are on offer as often they have one line at half price. In the bakery section the own brand chocolate loaf cake is also exceptional. Also it’s worth trying out some of their own brand speciality beers as they are very competitively priced and often very good — up there with some of the Belgium specialities.

A great place to do the weekly shop, and there online delivery service is amongst the best of any supermarket, staff pick sensible substitutes and take care to make sure your produce is delivered in a good state. There are also plenty of offers for existing members. The tiger bread is very good, and the rotisserie chickens are a favourite in our household. The meats off the counter including the salamis and hams are also favourites. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is always very good. Prices are slightly higher but it is worth it for the overall quality.
