Really neat B&B in a great part of Oxford. Close enough to walk everywhere in the heart of the town and around the university, but just away from the noise. Inexpensive, but wonderful breakfast and really cool historic building(be sure to check out the sign about the history of the place!).

Stayed here to tour Oxford. Excellent location. Super small rooms — but we didn’t spend much time in them.

Overall we enjoyed our stay! Great location right on top of our favorite Oxford pub, and within easy walking distance to all the university sites. Our room(#3) was very cute and comfy, with no issues receiving the free wifi. The complimentary breakfast buffet was simple(cereal, fruit, cheese, cold meats) but adequate. The french press coffee was surprisingly good as well.(That said, I still recommend walking to The Missing Bean for a proper espresso drink.) The only negatives to report are(1) the noise from the aforementioned pub(thank heavens they close at 11:00pm) and(2) the lack of a shower in our room(only had a bath tub with movable«shower» head). All in all, we’d definitely stay here again, but make sure to get a room opposite the pub with a shower!

So when I needed to stay here again because everything else was full, I asked them for a room with strong internet and they put me in the room right next to the router behind the check-in desk. I had internet the whole week, so I was a very happy camper. I was also immensely pleased that they let me check in when I arrived at 12 as it was a raining and cold day. Breakfast is still lousy and every. single. coffee they gave me had a broken filter and I got nothing but grinds. I’d mention it, they’d bring me another and surprise, grinds again. I ended up making coffee in my room every day which was much better than the restaurant’s.

We were walking around, discovering Oxford, and on the way to the Turf Tavern passed this place. We walked in and we greeted warmly and given a short history of the place and a look around. We booked in for a week on our next visit to Oxford. What a lovely place to stay. Our room was well appointed and furnished, the breakfasts filling and tasty, the bar area very welcoming. What a great place to stay. Come enjoy!
