I’ve only been to Frankie & Benny’s once before, and because of the stories i’ve heard about the whole franchise, it isn’t exactly my idea of ‘quality dining’, but let me tell you, i was gobsmacked about the whole experience in the Glasgow Airport one! I chose the place, because out of all the others, it seemed to have the most healthy options(i was looking for low cal, but still a tasty meal). The waiter was really nice, chatty, welcoming; even consolidated a crying girl sitting a few tables from me. I couldn’t decide between their goats cheese salad or a skinny burger, which i mentioned, and i ended up getting the burger with zucchini fries — the waiter also had them add a wee extra bit of goats cheese with my salad just cus i couldn’t decide earlier! the taste was as expected, decent for a ‘fast food’ establishment such as Frankie & Benny’s I had a few hours to kill before my flight, so i stayed and had a pick of their cocktail selection, which is also quite impressive. Ast got busier, the service still staid 5*, despite the waiter having about 5+ tables to keep an eye on. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience & i would definitely come back next time i’ve got time to spare at the airport! (only reason i gave it 4* in stead of 5* is cus i know a bit about how their kitchen works.)

So we needed a pre-flight meal and decided to try out F&Bs for lack of many other options. I’ve only eaten at a F&Bs once before which was when I first moved to Scotland. I couldn’t remember that experience so was interested to see what it’s like. This one is at the top of the stairs once you’ve been through security. It’s kind of dark inside and the lighting really needs to be improved — in the booth we were sitting in, I actually felt like I was under an interrogation light. Anyway, we ended up ordering a starter to share and a main each. We got the chicken strips and I got the penne chicken and mushroom for main. I was also having some rosé wine because holidays. The chicken strips were good. I really liked this. I wish I had them as a main. My main was terrible. Probably the blandest meal I’ve ever eaten. Ever. It just didn’t taste like anything. The cheese crumb just tasted like bread crumbs, I couldn’t taste any cheese at all. It was a big fat meh. And a pretty expensive one too at £11. I should have complained but I couldn’t be bothered. Upside of the meal was the chicken strips, they were good. I liked the rosé. Our waiter, Liam, was probably the MOST chipper person I’ve encountered at the airport and you could tell he took his job really seriously. Not in an annoying way, he was very professional, friendly and polite. He’s the reason this is 3-stars and not two. Liam, you rock.

This is the Frankie & Benny’s at Glasgow Airport. You don’t have many options, and this one is probably your best. I’ve rediscovered my love for«oldies» music lately, so the soundtrack here lets me indulge in that. There’s a solid drinks menu as well. Maybe not beer so much, but there’s Wetherspoons for that. They used to do an awesome lemon-lime fizzy drink with vodka but they seem to have taken it off! Maybe you can try asking for it anyway. This place is about as close to legit American food as you can get around these parts. I love the buffalo chicken blue cheese salad, but it’s massive so brace yourself. The«alfredo» pasta dish really isn’t alfredo, and the«full American breakfast» is suspiciously British, but I’ll give them a pass. Oh, and the dessert is delicious! Try the banoffee waffle. God damn. The service is slow. Unless you’re aggressive enough to flag down servers left and right, you’d better have ample time to eat here before your gate is called. The staff just don’t seem especially attentive, but they have a lot of tables to serve as well, so it’s not all their fault. Hopefully you won’t ever have to visit the airport as much as I’ve had to over the past year, but when you do, this is the place to be.
