Red Chamber

I would not recommend this restaurant. the food was ok but nothing special and very expensive. there wasnt enough staff working and it was very busy. My husband ordered a lamb dish in a brown sauce and when it arrived and we tasted it, it certainly was in brown sauce, litterally HP sauce! i’m allergic to onions and when my main dish and noodle dish arrived it both had spring onions in it. we had to complain to the manager who wasnt very reseptive of the complain and only removed the noodle dish from the bill. the waitress who served us couldnt tell us what certain dishes contained that we enquired about either. This restaurant was recommended to us but certainly wouldnt go there again.

Always funny how people have such different experiences.
When out with friends we tend to go for the set menu, and then change it slightly, and the staff are very accommodating.
A place that never seems to be empty. I find the service quite fast. Perhaps too fast sometimes. I wonder if it is to get the table turned around. However, when with friends we tend to be the last to leave.
Recently, my wife and I went for the a la carte menu, and made up what we wanted to eat. Stuffed to the brim.
I think the restaurant manager could perhaps smile a bit more, but it adds to the character of the place.
I’d rate it as the best Chinese restaurant in the area.
Taken the kids a few times, and they love it there too.

Food is ok but is very pricey for the small meal portions, the staff are friendly but there isnt enough of them there.
