I consider this pub my local even though I have to walk through a field to get to it. It is an old fashioned pub with wonderful staff. There are loads of walks around the pub so be sure to combine it with sunday dinner & a walk by the reservoir. The food is great, especially the local produce. You can also get beer from a local brewery. They have quiz nights on tuesday & sunday evenings which I think are very difficult & haven’t won one yet. Band nights on wednesday evenings but be aware this is loud!

A traditional Village pub with everything you’d expect! Set in a very pretty little village with lots of great walks all around, this i a cute pub with the drinks you’d expect, avarage food and lots of locals! It’s not an unfriendly pub though by any means though and very welcoming to outsiders who know how to behave :)
They used to have a quiz night which was lots of fun but I’m not sure if they still do.

The Castle is a fantastic pub. The bar staff and owners are incredibly friendly nice people. I would recommend this pub to anyone. It always has a good atmosphere. It hosts the usual pub quizes, and an open mic night for musicians. It has a great range of beer at average prices. It has its own pool room. The food is second to none and not badly priced either. It also has a beer garden to the front of the pub. Definitely worth a visit, it’s got to be the best pub around it’s area for miles

Best combined with a walk round the attractive surrounding countryside, The Castle Inn can be a great place to reward yourself with a pint.
There’s not a huge choice of food or drink, but what is done is done well. Hearty and satisfying dishes like roast chicken or beef and bangers & mash are popular. The Inn is firmly rooted in the community, so new visitors should be careful to not ‘swan in’ like they own the place. It’s recommended to show some respect and then everyone gets on fine, this isn’t a city bar.
The Castle can be hard to reach by public transport, so take the car, poke around the lovely village and enjoy a quiet drink with some hearty grub. That’s the way to enjoy the Castle.
