Quick & good food. In a busy location by shops. Customer service not 100%.

Cosy pub located on th corner of Prospect Lane. I have had lunch here as they do 2 meals for £7 which is bargain and the portions are enough to keep you going till home time. Burger and drink for £4.99 everyday. Sunday roast and a drink £4.99. Grills, curries, pub classics, sandwiches and desserts — traditional good honest pub grub. Recently a darts board has been placed for that ‘retro’ look. Decent bar and friendly staff. Parking available. This pub is populated by all walks of people — from the common man to the sophisticated. Worth giving a try.

Out and about with my Mom a few weeks ago we found ourselves pretty hungry, in the vicinity of this pub, and with no other ideas of where to eat. So we gave this place a chance… The inside of the pub is well maintained and has a nice, friendly atmosphere even though we weren’t regulars. The staff were polite and helpful. My Mom and I found some seats fairly easily and we enjoyed a pleasant hour’s lunch together. We only had soft drinks and ordered two meals for £6.50. The place states that they don’t do fancy and our lunchtime wasn’t. But there was nothing wrong with our time or food their either. It was exactly what it tries to be; cheap and cheerful. The food was pretty good, we both had the fish and chips. I would visit again.

The Sharman’s Cross calls itself a Shirley pub that’s not shy on value, and they are right. They serve quality food at great prices. Come hungry, leave happy! You’ll find no-nonsense food, a great choice of drinks and friendly faces of all ages at this popular Solihull local. They don’t do «fancy» at The Sharman’s Cross. They simply give good, honest value to suit the whole community. The(and believe my there are a lot of them) regulars rely on the pub for a decent pint, a bit of entertainment and an affordable meal out. From breakfast for the busy, through to lunches for pensioners and tasty suppers for people who’d rather eat out than wash up, there’s always a bargain to be had here. The pub is crammed on a nighttime, it has a very homely and warm feel. The punters range in age from 16−90+, it is a strange cross section of middle class society. A great visit for sociologists and anthropologists alike. I really like the Sharman’s Cross. I remember when it burnt down when I was only a small child, but they miraculously turned it into one of the most popular and profitable pubs in the whole of Solihull.

Since last post, The prices have gone up for 2 meals for a fiver to 2 meals for £6. I have also noticed, they have changed the fish with a cheaper tasting fish, so therefore this place drops a star. That said, this place is still the local favourite.

I have been in this pub many times when I have visited my cousins who live nearby. I have always felt welcome. The Sharmans Cross has a great atmosphere, good selection of beer, friendly and fast staff, a credit to the landlord.

Very nice pub, good people and good beer. You can get a cheap meal here and it is always delicious food and great service. Friendly bar staff and some good entertainment shows on of a Saturday. I recently saw a UB40 tribute act here for free entrance which was a great night out. Large car park with plenty of spaces.

Free entertainment on a Saturday. Great friendly staff. Lovely big fire, but with the size of the pub I would like to see another one added. They have offers on the food sometimes and the quality and choice is very good. Big car park.
