Angelo and Rosa are just wonderful! After stumbling across Barrisimo about 6 months ago, I find myself there about 3 times a week for my coffee and have got lots of my colleagues in on the action too!(We might be addicted to this place!) Forget Starbucks and Pret on the high street — support independent stores like this! The coffee is amazing, and so is the food. Angelo and Rosa will literally make you whatever you want — if they run out of pasta, they will make some more up for you. They care about their customers, and it really shows.

The décor is really cute and the atmosphere is very nice. I have eaten several lunches here and the food is excellent and tastes really fresh and the coffee is one of the best in St. Albans. I agree with the other reviewers it gets crowded and getting a table is like gold-dust, so go early or late!

Small and perfectly formed. The best coffee in St Albans and good tostis/pasta /breads etc… normally the chatter of Italians around you. Nice friendly staff

Best coffee shop in St Albans. Great range of toasted sandwiches and snacks. Only downside is that it is so popular getting a table can be difficult.

Friendly family staff, great simple food for good value, and Great coffee! Only downside is that they need more seating.

There are already reviews for this place but it’s so good it’s worth a few lines. The crosti are delicious open sandwiches and if you’re not sure about the ones in the chiller they can make one up for you. The pasta is great for lunch if you’re a bit too hungry for a sandwich. And of course the coffee is fantastic. It’s small but worth taking some trouble to try out, I love a coffee here and listening to the jazz.

This is one of my favourite little cafes in St Albans. It is run by an Italian family, who are always really friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you step in the door. I had only been in there a few times before it was nice to see you again and do you want the usual?, so you can’t fault them for service. The coffee is really tasty, and you get really nice amaretto biscuits with them. The food is delicious as well, and all freshly made that day. If you don’t like what they’ve got prepared, they’ll make you something else! They do a loyalty card as well, so you can earn yourself a free coffee if you go there enough. Possibly my only criticism is that is a little small so you sometimes struggle to get seating when its busy, but that just shows how popular it is!
