It was my birthday and my husband and I found ourselves in St Ives for the weekend. This place is right on the wharf, but tucked away up some stairs. So glad we spotted it! We probably should have booked, but we were tourists and didn’t know any better! Luckily we got in! Our hostess and waitress was very friendly and chatty and clearly had a passion for this restaurant. 40% of their food is grown on their own plot, everything is fresh and the have a great selection of organic beers and wines. The chef came out and personally answered all our questions and was just a great passionate guy. I imagine the menu changes seasonally, but I can recommend the homemade bread and olives. OMG. Amazing. Our mains were creative, delicious and meticulously presented. The desserts were perfect– have the special, whatever it is it will be the best! I would definitely come back her again!

The best vegetarian restaurant I have been to. We were greeted by a warm, cheerful waitress who served us well all evening. As there were 4 of us we were able to sample a variety of dishes from the nicely balanced menu. All were superb, tasty and well presented: the highlight for me being the hazlenut meringues. There was a good, informed wine list too. The overall impression was that the people running this establishment really love and understand food. It would be better if they provided printed menus so we didn’t have to crowd round a single blackboard. It is also a shame there isn’t more space. However, I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to everyone. It moves veggie food beyond the joyless, brown stodge served up at some restaurants.

St Ives has been pulled way up the scale of top places to visit for me — I am a raw vegan and finding an interesting meal that’s not a basic salad is often a job. However, having prewarned this lovely family that I was hoping for something ingenious, I was not disappointed — in fact, I was stunned. It resembled fishcakes so much I wondered if it was raw salmon. I received a beautiful plate of seasonal, fresh, raw, beautiful food that could win a raw food design competition — thank you so much, good people!

The two chefs Sue and Paul compliment each other with differing skills. The pastries are outstanding and the curries and sauces are divine! Cost= Very good value Staff = Welcoming and helpful Marks out of ten = 9⁄10 They are so good I can see that an award is waiting in the wings. The food is fresh and locally sourced. The flavours are creative and compliment each other. This is truly crafted and art for the palate.
