We found ourselves at this Pizza Express(I’m guessing it is a chain) quite by accident. The music was cool, but bounced off all the hard surfaces and made conversation difficult. The prices are just a bit higher than warranted. The food was unremarkable, and the staff didn’t have their act together. I don’t know what Pizza Express wants to be. With pizza in its name, perhaps really good pizza would be a place to start. Add a bit of salt to the dough and let it proof longer. Put some herbs into the sauce. Get better mozzarella. And raise the temperature of the ovens. The risotto probably came from a bag, but it was tasty. The garlic bread with mozzarella looked like a pastry, rather like a cheese Danish. There are fifteen pubs, twelve Indian and three Chinese restaurants, and nine takeaway outlets of various types, in addition to the five pizza places on the High Street in Stevenage. You have many choices. Choose wisely.
