It’s a good modern drinking pub good selection of malts. Décor modern clean service seems good. Says it sells craft ales, we’ll take that with a pinch of salt. But it’s a good place for an intimate drink. No yobs allowed.

Nice pub for quite evenings with friends. The pub quizzes are a little but dry and no fun to be around if your not participating, the disaronno maybe a little expensive but a great place to be on a live music or open mike night!

A big fan of the atmosphere in this particular watering hole. I discovered the delights of drinking in Drouthy’s pretty recently, considering I’m a native of these parts. An old friend moved to Stirling and I promised I’d show her, ahem, the ”sights” one evening. We ended up in here by chance(the chance factor being it was tipping down and Drouthy’s was nearest) and stayed for the duration. The place was packed due to there being live music on so the bar was pretty busy but the bar staff were all great, very friendly and chatty and there wasn’t much of a wait for the drinks and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening(until we had to leave only to find it was still tipping down). We’ve since introduced her new flatmate to the place and it’s become something of our favourite spot in Stirling, decent crowd, great staff and whenever there’s live music on, it’s always decent(the dancing of some of the patrons perhaps a wee bit less so, lol). Drouthy’s, I’ll probably see you next weekend! ;)

Since my last review of Drouthy Neebors I’ve been for drinks with friends. Although I didn’t stay for long as it wasn’t a late one, there was live music and it was packed. The drinks are cheaper than I remember them.(I shared a Tutti Frutti cocktail pitcher and it was nice but it tasted very weak. In terms of alcohol content, they’re poor value! But they’re definitely tasty!) The atmosphere was also much livelier than I’d seen it in the past. I’d definitely consider venturing in but only at the weekend. — It seems like that’s when, with a little live music, Drouthys might just come to life.

It’s a fine place but the drinks are pretty average, at least in the way of pricing. The crowd seems pretty mixed and it does do a 10% discount for students. It seems like its busiest nights are Tuesdays, though I guess that’s the way it is in Stirling mostly for whatever reason. Not a bad place, but not a very interesting one.

This is a great spot for people watching with both outdoor seatings and tables by big windows that open onto the street. The pub grub is reliable fare. The perfect spot for lunch if you’re on the tourist trail.

Seems like a decent boozer to me. Love the décor(apart from the fish tank) and warmth of the place. Friendly staff and decent beer. Lots of places to sit and like the old style toilet in the mens :) I’d have given it 4 stars, but the fish tank lets down the authenticity of the place. Don’t get me wrong, I love aquaria, but there’s only certain places they should be!

i have to completely disagree with the previous reviews. this is by far one of the worst bars in stirling for what it potentially could be. I once was a regular to this bar AND was accainted to older staff but but in rescent years Id describe the place more of a sinking ship. Its a shame it came to this but after 2 many bad experiences I wont be back. firstly check out the sign outside. ‘real ale house…‘ slightly misleading as the bar only has 1 ale on tap and only 1 bottled variety when i last visited? hmm if its ale you are after I’d recommend you step over the road to no2 which by far have a better selection available. but enough of my nitpicking. anyhow the pub itself I find quite intriuging. Its dark inside with tam o shanter motive painted across the ceiling. I cannot deny it has an atmosphere(candles sometimes placed on tables to create nice mood) and the scottish theme seems to appeal greatly with tourists. other than this, the place just doesnt cut it. these are my reasons why. It has a small kitchen which chugs out the usual deep fried pub grub available in most places. the prices are standard but nothing at all spectacular regarding the menu. When meeting with friends recently, the last thing I ate from the menu(a burger) was very dissapointing. the meals arrived looking rather disheveled + thrown together. the coleslaw was basically tasteless mayo with a small amount of withered cabbage included. when the drinks arrived(after the meal did btw) 3 of the 4 had ice which we had specifically asked not to include. on questioning once finished and the plates were being cleared — i was told in the nicest way possible that the actual burger i had just ate hadnt been cooked on a grill from fresh but had sat in a bain marie full of liquid(?) from earlier that afternoon. the table was ridiculously sticky and previous sauce sachets remained on the floor from earlier. the pub itself wasnt busy — the staff just seemed to be sauntering around checking their make up rather than actually serving… THEPINTSARECOMPLETELYFLAT and taste like the lines havent been cleaned properly in a long time. the toilets stink. u can smell urine strongly on passing the gents + the ladies smell like raw sewage and seeing as I am on a proper rant here — I better mention the fingernail which was found recently in a womans haggis. I know of this as the lady in question just so happened to be sitting near me in another local bar recently and I asked her about it after I had overheard her mention it in disgust to a friend. in all honesty, id reccomend bodyswerving the place altogether and heading up to Nicky Tams a few doors up — or as I mentioned before No2 across the street. The place is a disgrace.

Great for a quick bite and a pint. We popped in here late one afternoon after arriving in Stirling. They have music nights on, and there is seating out onto the pavement(weather willing). Very nice pub, wonderful friendly service and reasonably priced food.

Having spent only one drinks worth of time here(not through choice) I can’t tell you a great deal, however, I do recall the pub having a great atmosphere, plenty of space and seating, and the staff welcoming and friendly. Will go back! Editing four years on; Have been frequenting Drouthy’s quite regularly since the first post and still find it Ok. So glad to see they’ve lost the fish tank though, it just wasn’t right. The toilets are certainly not the worst in the town tho was amazed to see that some drunken girlies have been blotting their lipstick on the cubicle walls. Ewwww gaaad! Also, the tables get more and more sticky each time. Not too sure I like the pub so much any more :-/ On the plus side however, good staff, good atmosphere.
