Moved here from Ireland and have struggled to find a chipper with the same kinda stuff/standard. Amazing chips, fish, mushroom fritters… As a Chinese it’s great too. The place is always busy too, which is proof.

It’s hard to find a chippy that makes amazing Chinese AND British food. Usually, you’ll find a place does mouthwatering Chinese meals and rubbish chips or vice versa! Not here, though.
At Golden Gate, you’ll find a superb selection of traditional British fare, like pies and fish, all served with lovely chunky chips! Meanwhile, they also offer a huge range of great traditional Chinese food, including the fattest, tastiest spring rolls ever!
But the food isn’t the only good thing about this place. The prices are very reasonable too, the staff are friendly and you never have to wait long to get served. Plus, there’s a Bargain Booze and a Co-op on the same block of shops, so it’s easy to grab a few cans or a bottle of wine to enjoy with your food!
