At the end of a very stressful week, I found myself in an unfamiliar place, feeling hungry and exhausted. I wanted something spicy, carby and delicious.
Haldi was the nearest Indian takeaway according to Just Eat. We ordered a lot of food: lamb bhuna, paneer saag, pilau rice, garlic naan, peshwari naan, and Bombay potatoes. All of this came to about £20, which I thought was very reasonable, especially considering the portions were huge! We got two big meals out of this lot.
Everything was really good except the garlic naan. It was overdone to the point of being brittle and the garlic taste was harsh and bitter. The Bombay potatoes were very tasty. My saag paneer was lovely, with loads of huge chunks of paneer and a lot of delicious rich spinach — in some places you get a lot of one and not the other, but this one was awesome.
I probably won’t make the effort to order from here again as I don’t live in the area, but I would definitely recommend for those who do!
