A pint of decent beer in the sunny courtyard garden… what’s not to like? We didn’t eat but the Yorkshire puddings we spied were the size of a pudding bowl! A little away from the coach trip tourists so worth knowing about.

As a once quite regular patron of the One Elm, I used to enjoy the service, ambience and quality of food and drink. Most recently, my friends and I had to wait the best part of 15 minutes to even be acknowledged at the bar, and then nearly died of old age waiting for our drinks to be made, exchanged when wrong and remade. Food prices seem to have shot up in the last few months which is really upsetting as the general quality has shot right down. Food slapped onto plates, no care in presentation and a general lack of passion. Bring back the old head chef. What seems to be most unusual of all is the amount of utter pretentious tools that now frequent the place, making people who just want to sit and have a nice chilled out meal feel uncomfortable for doing so. 0⁄10 will not return again.

Yummy lunch spot while visiting Shakespeare’s home Took a walking tour around all the Shakespeare hot spots & midday, gnarling hunger set in — so off we trounced to the One Elm Just made the lunch cutoff & luck sure did smile down on us! Veggie Butternut Squash Risotto for me — creamy & extremely warming & filling! They had other veggie options from which to choose & it was an extremely difficult decision! Dad had the Seafood Chowder & while he had originally hoped for the Soup w/Dumplings, this was a tasty alternative Mom had the Fish of the Day w/some kind of Sauteed Greens & she ranted & raved over how delish everything was Staff was friendly & attentive — highly recommend this awesome pub!

So many fond memories of this place. It is at its bet in the summer when you can sit outside. Although it is on the main road and close to a big roundabout it still has a local country feel about it. It is rihtnext to the old Motor Museum which is now a rather posh restaurant so you may want to pop in here for a drink on your way to dinner. my fave time is lunch time as the food is good value, served quicly and always delicious. Highly recommended

Good food and not too expensive. We booked a table in the restaurant, only to find when we got there that the restaurant was closed so we were put at a table to the side of the bar, not the greatest of starts. They had not told us of this when we booked(about two hours before), so it was a disappointment. On the other hand, the food that we got served was delicious, and there was plenty of wine to choose from. The service that we received was really good, and all of the staff members were happy and friendly.

Great Food. Book early! Very stylish interior décor, modern menu and great wine selection, topped off with(local) staff who know what they are doing!
