This traditional fish and chip shop benefits from a spotless, pleasant interior, respectable prices and efficient service. If you’re willing to wait 10 minutes, the pizzas here are excellent, and if not, fish, pies and sausages are always ready to go. The tiled walls and floors inside look as if they’ve been painstakingly scrubbed to perfection and on my most recent visit, the staff were friendly and the turnaround was very quick. Pie and chips costs just £2.10 whether you go for steak and kidney or chicken and mushroom and in my experience, both are delicious here at Josie’s!

Whoever Josie is, she does a mean takeaway. Fish and Chips, Kebabs, Southern fried Chicken, pizzas and much more. Josie’s is an extremely popular chippy, helped by having a pub almost next door. Unlike many chippy’s this place cooks a small amount of chips at a time so the chances of having a fresh out of the fryer bag at anytime is great. it’s the same with the fish, they have an policy that nothing should be kept in a warmer it should be from the fryer into your mouth as soon as is possible, I like this policy, other chippy’s should follow suit.
