I’ve been a fair number of times over the last few years, as some of my family meet there from time to time, so I occasionally go along to see them all. It went from being an O’Neils(if I remember rightly) to a Molloy’s a couple of years back, and is still excellent value. The service is normally very quick and always friendly, and the menu is very affordable with some great meal deals, and lots of variety. The Guinness tends to be good to, which of course matters in an Irish bar! We always go of a Friday lunch time, and it can get very busy, but the staff are always helpful and help us get a table, even if it means pushing a couple together. There’s always good music playing and plenty of staff around to serve you.

Molloy’s has a bit of everything on offer. Great food, a well stocked bar, live music of a weekend and they show sports on their big screens and smaller TV’s dotted around. The menu here offers general pub grub options but it’s not general pub grub portions. I usually pick off the ‘two meals for £6.95′ menu and I can tell you, the value for what you get, is crazy. Recently I’ve tried the beef yorkie roll, which is beef, wrapped in a giant Yorkshire pudding with potatoes and veg. It was amazing! The beef was really tender and the potatoes nice and fluffy! My hubby had the chicken tikka masala and again it was delicious. It wasn’t too spicy and the portion was really generous, too generous. We were both too stuffed to take advantage of the 241 offer on desserts! I’ve recently been here to watch a game of football and the atmosphere was electric. The only downside is that the queues at the bar can be a bit of a pain. The length of the bar is difficult for the staff to handle as they don’t know who was waiting before who. Apart from this, the prices are good and the staff are friendly. I will making another trip to Molloy’s when my next footy outing arises.

Offering reasonably priced drinks, a sizeable dancefloor and good value food, this late-night Irish pub is a great place to either relax with a few drinks after work of a weekday, or party ’til late on a Saturday night. Molloys regularly hosts live music and entertainment and is open until 2am every Friday and Saturday night. The staff are fast and efficient and the customers tend to come from very mixed age groups and backgrounds, meaning that late weekend nights will never be spoiled by an abundance of boisterous, drunken teenagers. Security is top-notch, with guards manning both the outside and inside of the bar of a weekend and the pub’s daytime food offers are very attractively priced. A great Sutton Coldfield hotspot, day or night.
