It’s superb. Simple as that. I went last night. £14.50 for 3 courses! Pretty much everything is home made. We are just at the beginning of asparagus season — so that’s what I ordered. Asparagus, wrapped in Parma ham topped with a golden tolled egg. Delicious. For the main, I went for home made corned beef hash. Brined brisket of beef, slow cooked with beetroot,(mainly to add colour), with a perfect egg on top. 10⁄10. It’s not of the evening menu — apparently it’s not good enough — but IF you ask nicely… Desserts are known to be great here. You won’t get a better chocolate brownie. Last night I went for an orange/almond cake with orange coulis/sauce. Brilliant. Please try this place. It’s incredible value for money and excellent food.

This is arguably the best food served in Sutton. We have used the Buttlers Arms on about 7 occasions over 2 years, the food has never failed to reach a very high standard. The service is friendly and efficient l have recomended this fine establishment to a number of friends who have all echoed my opinion.

This pub is a must visit. Three course Sunday lunch for £15! I’m not talking about a few pieces of melon followed by a limp piece of grey meat and a scoop of ice-cream, this is real quality. There were easily three choices for each course which sounded delicious, making it really tough to choose. Most of my family chose to pay a supplement for the belly pork which was well worth it cause it looked delicious. I had roast beef which was also excellent. Additionally a decent choice of real ales and a comfortable bar area for pre/post drinks. For the price I literally can’t imagine a better menu, it was excellent. My dad’s only gripe was that vegetable sides didn’t come with all the meals only the roast, but they happily provided extras when asked.

Self-styled as Sutton Coldfield’s best kept secret, the Butlers Arms is being a little bit modest to say the least. It wouldn’t be no exaggeration to call this smallish pub in the Four Oaks suburbs ‘Birmingham’s best kept secret’. I can’t really think of another pub where you need to book a table on a Monday evening! Those in the know just can’t get enough of the place… and this is why. Visit on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesday and you can enjoy a three-course meal of first-rate, intelligent pub cuisine for a mere £11.50! I started with the chicken terrine, which came with a welcome helping of crusty bread. For mains I had a gorgeous burger with hand cut chips that came presented in a china mug! These little touches mean so much! My sweet was cheese and biscuits and, unlike many pub’s attempts at one of my favourite desserts, there was plenty of it. If you want to treat your family or impress you friends this is the place to go. I can’t even begin to tell you about the Sunday lunches or the early bird specials… Go find out for yourself!

From time to time you hear of a Brummie pub where there’s more of an emphasis on its dry sales than wet. The Butlers Arms is one such place, where at least two-thirds of the seemingy always-full venue must be a result of positive word-of-mouth. While it’s perhaps unhelpfully located in an uncommercialised part of Sutton near the Staffs border, its proximity to the Cross City Line’s Butlers Lane railway station should persuade those for whom the pub has always seemed ‘a bit too far’. The menu — documented on other reviews — is a real cut above normal pub food, with staff treating the service as a restaurateur would hope, rather than stroppy teens called away from pulling a Fosters for two minutes. But amid the early week offers which see an impressively discounted three courses — the reason for its huge draw — there is also a thriving bar with an array of draught beers to disgrace the tired chain pub experience from which The Butlers is a blessed relief. Your first visit won’t be your last.

This place almost certainly used to be an old style local pub. Despite a renovation and a huge emphasis now placed on the restaurant, it retains some of its old character. The Butlers Arms is split into two halves. As you enter through the front door, to the left is a drinking area with a few comfortable sofa’s for relaxing into, and to the right is a small restaurant. The restaurant menu is really quite extensive, however, I defy you not to order a fish dish off the specials board… This is where you’ll really begin to appreciate why its customers return — simply delicious. With this one, don’t expect fancy surroundings, but do expect great food.
