Saffron Merchant

We ordered from Saffron Merchant last night and the food was impeccable. It was the best Indian food I’ve had in South London by a long shot.
I was looking specifically for sag (palak) paneer, as it is a favourite from our US days. They had one on the menu so I decided to order from there, and I am so glad we did. It was amazing — delicious and cheesy in a quite unique way. We also got the lamb balti (lots of yummy fresh veggies inside and a big portion), masala daal (nice to have a spicy daal for once!), naans: peshwari and garlic and the obligatory poppadoms with dips. The extra free item was a vegetable curry but as we didn’t try it it is unfair to comment (!) Everything was incredibly delicious. Only one minor point: the premium dip selection only had one kind of chutney, two packs of it, which was a bit lame.
It was pretty cheap considering the deal they had going for 20% off a food bill of £20+. I ended up adding the extra curry to get to £20, which made said curry free. We got a huge amount of food for £20, some of which is now sitting in the freezer for our next Indian night!
Everything was very well-​presented, with lovely packaging and a smart logo. Very middle-​class-​dinner-​party. :-)
