They try hard and succeed. This is an excellent value little place; unpretentious and yet decent quality. The«specials» are particularly worthwhile taking advantage of. Our order which was a bit complicated, was swiftly and accurately taken care of. Apart from good burgers, the Mac and Cheese was a worthwhile addition. Recommended.

Love the interior — so cool and fresh in Falmouth! Menu and graphic design looks great. The servers are friendly and patient. However, the food just didn’t impress. As other have said, all of it is just lacking a bit of flavor. I wanted to love this place so much — but I probably won’t go back. I’ll continue my search for a better burger.

A for effort… F is for fail when it comes to animal style. I ordered the cheese burger and animal fries and a lemonade which all came out to around £10. The burger was good, juicy and with a huge mound of cheese. I ordered it with cheddar cheese and it was a huge glob of melty cheese. It was good. The bread and butter pickles I added to the order was also a really nice touch. The animal fries tho… man, that was a joke. The sauce which makes me think it was a mix of ketchup, mayo and hot sauce was bland and not reminiscent of the IN-n-OUT ‘Animal’ style. I would drop the name, because it doesn’t make sense nor is it too tasty. The pickles on the side seem to be an afterthought.

Sometimes I feel bad about writing reviews of places because I really, really want to enjoy them, but they let me down. That was my experience at The Meat Counter. It’s a cute little restaurant with a small number of seats, but that’s not a deterrent. The burgers on the board looked absolutely amazing, so we decided to get one cheeseburger with blue cheese and bacon and one of the bbq pork burgers(topped with bbq pork). We also split their animal-style cheesy chips. I also had a root beer(yes, they have root beer in the UK!) So the burgers. We split them in half, and they were two different buns. The bun on the pork burger was the right size, but a bit stale and crumbly. I would have preferred the burger to be cooked a bit more pink in the middle. And unfortunately, there wasn’t a lot of flavor all around(the meat definitely needed more seasoning.) The cheese burger had a massive bun. It was way too big for the size of the patty, so we ended up eating only part of it. And with a blue cheese burger, I expect a nice rich experience, but it was still kind of bland and under-seasoned. And the animal-style cheesy chips. Coming from the US, I expected an In-N-Out animal style thing, and they were just some chips with a bland cheese sauce and a few chopped pickles. Not quite the animal style I was hoping for. So a good effort, but for me, it was lacking. Which is unfortunate. It’s a super cool venue, and the music was great, and the workers were super friendly(and attractive!), but the food just really didn’t stand up for me.
